I have to say, I really don't like the current setup for the "dance-off". Before that scene, the music awkwardly pauses for the host to say "Not to worry! Friends of the bride." Now they are down to about one male Irish dancer that can do any of the special maneuvers. Because of that, the Irish dancers look just as "cluttered" as the Americans. There is no way to tell the contrast. Sadly, I think the cast is an issue with a few exceptions. I'm sure that's why they added the pups. They are the ones that really run the show this year. I still like the show, but it needs more attention from its directors.

The "directors" were overruled by higher management on some new parts of CF this year. Also, it's very likely CF will return for 2015. (No money to arrange, choreograph and score a new show. Go figure.)

Yes. Due to Entrainment cuts the park doesn't have enough swing performers to allow them to cycle out performers for their days off- everyone on the cast gets Wednesdays off now instead. This began last year with Entwined, This is Oktoberfest, and Mix it Up- guess it has spread to Celtic Fyre now. Unbelievable that the show with, by far, the highest guest satisfaction ratings has to go dark for a day while London Rocks runs with two full casts with enough swing performers to swap out people on each cast throughout the week.

The only reasonable justification I can see for that is the fact that London Rocks doesn't need very many performers for a production of that calibur. It really is a small cast. Seven people less than the average Busch Gardens production of that size. Celtic Fyre, however, needs around 22 performers.

So true, Zachary! Although I think that LR is a great show, Celtic Fyre, in my opinion, is much better. I feel like it could still bring in a whole theater full of people even if it did as many shows as LR. I wish the park would equally distribute budget money to all of the shows. :(

hmm.. each LR cast has two dark days on the contrary..... one cast will run by itself alternating each day mon-thurs. and on fri, sat and sun both casts perform... LR has no more swings than any other show.

They might not have designated swings, but if they needed to replace someone for a day or two, they could do it. Basically though, London Rocks is performing consistently every day; whereas Celtic Fyre has a one day break each week.

I did not realize that some of the shows at BGW are dark one day a week now. That seems to be a major change since the last time I visited. I thought the park at least had swings to fill in during the week; so each performer got one day off a week and the shows were able to keep running 7 days a week. I thought the old Broadway shows did have 2 casts when they ran in the former Magic Lantern theater (now Abbey Stone).

This used to be my favorite show. With the addition of London Rocks, that took the trophy for me. But Celtic is as good as it's always been. Absolutely incredible dancing; voices were good for the most part, but still just as fun as it's been in past years. Now that LR has raised the bar, I wish there was more of a story. I get that it's a big celebration of this random couples marriage, but there could be more substance. Most shows have a clear beginning, middle, and end, but Celtic is kind of just living right there in the middle. We're not sure how the marriage came to be or where it's going. This is just a minor issue for me though. The show is still fun and enjoyable to watch. I'll always come see this show when I go to the park. It never fails to impress.

Its not really a wedding, but more of a wedding reception. That what it says on the chalkboard on stage, wedding reception at such and such time.

The story is just simply, people arrive for the reception, the groom is jealous of the Americans, they settle their differences through a tap dance battle, then they all finish with a good time.

I really don't understand the objection to the "plot" at all. It is a wedding celebration, not a story. The idea that a show needs a complicated plot is completely fallacious. Some of the most celebrated shows in New York have nothing more than a central theme. For example, I recently saw Balanchine's Jewels performed by New York City Ballet. It is an award-winning and critically acclaimed abstract ballet with no plot.

You also tend to find that Scott can't handle shows with complicated plots. Entwined and LR, whether you like them or not, are some of, if not the most hated shows in the park. Whereas all the special event shows(excluding Illuminights) have no complicated story, but everyone seems to have little to no problems with those shows. I think if Scott stuck to shows with a central theme, or idea, and not try to make every show have a complicated, and difficult to understand plot, we would see a lot more successful shows out of him.

Yes there are plenty of great shows with no plot at all. It really depends on the show and if a plot helps the show or if the show is good without it. Some shows really do need a stronger story to help the show, other shows don't need any story period they are just good without it.

It comes down to what the creator of the show wants to portray to you as their vision. Some people want you to view a story as part of their vision, others don't. It really doesn't matter.

Gosh if only they had a way to hire quality actors and dancers that did not cost as much...

/end soap box

It must be prohibited on the filming of it as the show I went to on Sat. they told a guy to stop recording right then. The dogs were in the show Sat but on one of the 2 shows I went to on Friday they were not there.
