I don't see it this way, I see it as CF by way of KD is starting to finally care more about CX over just pure thrill rides and money grabbing.

KD limited hours so they can ensure max staffing so everything could be open at regular capacity - shorter lines = happier guests. This is how a company adjusted based on 'the great resignation' trend that affects almost all employers.

KD isn't the jewel of the CF chain and arguably doesn't deserve regular huge capex spending for new attractions as much as other parks - not saying they shouldn't get anything but insane layout rides kinda died with I305 not necessarily increasing attendance/revenue (this is a guess, no hard evidence). CF inherited KD from Paramount whom liked to install prototype rides that were ultimately not made for the use/abuse they received and were on the whole fairly unreliable and potentially becoming safety hazards. Thus the logical conclusion is they scrapped the busted attractions and are awaiting funding for any large replacements... If that's the direction they choose to go over more experiences and smaller flats, etc.
I totally agree. I see KD is on the up swing and BGW is in decline. Paramount did horrible things to KD so there is a lot to recover from. CF made a few missteps as well (I305 didn't work out very well).

Another show we really miss is Pet Shenanigans. I think there was a post on this site that said they dropped the contract at the start of covid. I think that was a huge mistake for BGW.

We took a friend to visit BGW for the first time and she thought that Celtic Fyre was pretty good (she said it was Disney level quality). Even if it's been around forever I wouldn't mess with it until they bring in other shows and fix the ones they have (as Ice mentioned).

I realize that Irish dancing choreography is limited...
Ack! No. Just no. So much no. Speaking as a former Irish dancer myself, they have only scratched the surface of what is possible with the choreography.
Do I think it is absolutely brilliant? YES. Do I also think it is stale? Yes. I agree with everything else you said, Super7. But I'm also adding that a choreography change would be wonderful and refreshing, and the art form is most definitely not limited.
To be fair, I will also mention that I HAVE seen minor choreography changes over the years. But I'm 99% sure that these are fun, spontaneous improv moments from the dancers who are probably tired of doing the same exact dance multiple times a day for years. (I realize that not all of them are there for multiple years, but there are a few returning faces. That dance must get SO old...) I've seen them throw in little moves here and there to spice things up, especially in the part of the show where they are trying to "show off." But I doubt these are actually choreographed differences from the entertainment dept. Come on... These (PHENOMENAL) dancers deserve some new choreography! I really thought they were going to get that for Christmas... Guess not.

You are so right. Paramount did so much damage to KD. The damage that Paramount did (removing family rides like the train and skyway plus entertainment venues) gave Busch the full advantage for that market of customer. Just imagine Winterfest with those things still in the park! It would be the king of Christmas events.

I should have said “more limited than some other types of dance.” Namely because it doesn’t use arm choreography. But that aside, I know and Irish dance show is capable of major choreography changes and it’s time for CF to do so. Especially for a seasonal show advertised as “new”.

I'm glad Celtic Fyre Christmas is back, but like @Coasternerd said, now that it looks like this is a long-term solution instead of just a COVID-triggered stopgap, I'd really like more substantial show changes. "Christmas in Killarney" offers the PERFECT opening song for a show about a bunch of folks gathering at a pub for a Christmas celebration. I'd love to see that storyline take the place of the wedding for Christmas.

Especially when you consider the show it replaced (Gloria), it deserves a much more complete show and not a (apologies in advance for the language) half-assed modification to call it a “new” show.
I’m all for what @Zachary said about changing the storyline for a Christmas celebration and not having the wedding theme.

Has anyone ever successfully gotten the seats at the tables in the front? If so, how do you suggest doing so?

It seems that if you ask very nicely, and they don’t have many reserved seats sold, they’ll let you sit there! I’m not guaranteeing it by any means, but it worked for us this evening.
