This the equivalent to if Wal-Mart (Six Flags) and Target (Cedar Fair) merged. Absolutely terrible news for Cedar Fair parks, especially for mid-tier parks like Kings Dominion. I can't think of hardly any positives for the current regional Cedar Fair park guests with this news.
I’d be more worried if I was Dorney Park or Six Flags America to be honest

The presentation clearly suggests that they will extend their licensing efforts across the combined company, so presumably this would mean integration of Looney Tunes/DC into the CF parks. That said, I’d EXPECT them to basically keep Looney Tunes/Peanuts distinct since no park reasonably needs two kids areas, but they could do shows/meet and greets, I suppose.

But DC at CF seems pretty inevitable.

It goes without saying, this largely breaks precedents for anything going forward. The company dynamics should be radically different at all regional parks in regards to pretty much everything. We could see the Six Flags parks becoming more "Cedar Fair like" and the Cedar Fair parks become more "Six Flags like" they could do literally anything. This is probably the most significant theme park news in years. Just hope that contract was signed on Virginia Thunderbird....

I wouldn't be surprised if Action Zone at Kings Island becomes DC Universe and Banshee becomes Batman: The Ride.

So.....it means they become SEAS like?

Hear me out:

$120mm of identified cost savings realized within the first 2 years of transaction close.
$80mm of incremental EBITDA uplift from improved guest experience expected to be realized within 3 years of transaction close.

Interesting projections within the document. As expected, they're getting lean, how exactly we will see.

According to the reports so far, Cedar Fair's Zimmerman will be the CEO of the combined park chains. Six Flags Basoul (sp?) will be the chairman of the combined Board of Directors (six members from SF and six members from CF). Corporate offices for the combined park chains will be in Cedar Fair's headquarters in Charlotte and Sandusky.

After a small spike yesterday, my FUN stock is starting to plummet back down this morning. Hopefully it evens out before it gets to its original price.

I’m trying not to overreact, but I see so many potential negatives. CF parks are so clean and well maintained. Don’t Six Flags my Kings Dominion!

CF also just acquired so much debt… just never thought something this could happen

Dammit why did I buy that all park Prestige pass when I had that legacy all park Six Flags pass. Could have saved so much money.

Presumably we won't see pass programs merged until 2025. It'll be very interesting to see how that all shakes out given Six Flags' endless variety of grandfathered pass and membership products. Cedar Fair has always managed to dodge those issues by maintaining seasonal passes. Curious to which which strategy wins out.

This is the biggest immediate downside that I see. KD has made so much progress the past 4-5 years, and I really don't want to see that undone. I'm also hoping this doesn't put the 2025 project in jeopardy.
