Hello!
I wanted to let you know, that your first image is where the location is.
You can see them digging in that area from the exit light. I live a mile from the park, and the road with the exit light always backs up with traffic.. so, not having anything better to do, I took some binoculars and looked straight down that exit road. They have some big equipment digging.
ALSO, if you go to the former Cabela's(It's been rebranded as Bass Pro Shops.). you can see they are also digging and moving dirt next to their parking lot, in the area close to the Bass Pro. I haven't seen anything mentioned about permits for this area.

Carowinds - Project Daiquiri Redevelopment project within the Carowinds development - York County, SC This project includes the construction of a pool on the SC side of the Carowinds Theme Park in York, SC. The project will replace a previously existing water ride / facility with similar usage requirements.

Lol... looks like they submitted SC plans to city of Charlotte. The park now currently has 3 major construction projects.

It looks like they had to file with Charlotte because the project will be using Charlotte water.

Looks beautiful, but also empty. Is this the norm? It was an interesting addition but I was curious from the start if it would be successful or be a huge flop. I also know it’s a Thursday, but just wondering.

It looks great but no shade. The tiny umbrellas they have don’t even shade two chairs at a time. I found it odd that no one was in the pool at all. If they added normal shade like by the newest wave pool, I think it would be packed.
