It is my understanding that Cedar Fair is locked into a 6 year lease unless Prologis agrees to end the lease early.

On June 27, 2022, and as a condition to the sale of the Park, the Company entered into a lease with Prologis pursuant to which Cedar Fair, L.P., throughits subsidiaries will continue to operate the Park. The lease has a six-year term, and the Company has the option to extend the term for an additional fiveyears. The lease is subject to a right in favor of Prologis to terminate the lease early by providing at least two years’ prior notice. The annual base rent under the lease is $12,247,500 and will increase by 2.5% each year.

Presumably, talks about the potential for an early exit will spin up with Prologis nearly immediately.

It's beneficial for Prologis for new Six Flags to walk away from the property too. The local municipality is talking about how they won't rezone the land from an amusement park to another use, but that calculation will almost certainly change dramatically if California's Great America packs up all their toys, ships them across town to SFDK, and shuts down CGA voluntarily with nothing of value left onsite to incentivize a new amusement tenant.

So California’s Great America just sent out this statement to Season Pass holders announcing they are cancelling seasonal events for the 2025 season (Winterfest etc.) and now rumors are beginning to swirl that next season could indeed be the final season of operation for the park.

The last bit is still very much a rumor. But I would get to this park ASAP if you have any intention of getting the credits here.

Hard not to see this announcement as anything other than the beginning of the end in my opinion. Not surprising, but very sad to see happening.

Plan accordingly. But according to several sources I have who I trust wholeheartedly. Last day of operation for CGA is 10/25/2025

Gold Striker is also likely going with the park
Seems odd they'd let that much lumber go to waste, given the current still-elevated price.

Guessing that Railblazer may be the only salvaged coaster from CGA, given that all others are 20+ years older at this point. Not sure on the flat ride side of things, but other than the newer Zamperla Windstar and maybe the Disk'O, not sure what else would be saved here. Maybe SFMM's waiting to replace their Scrambler with the one from here...
