Someone was asking about the Big Bad Wolf, it kinda shocks me that some people are still not aware about it after about two years.

You'd be surprised how many times I'm crossing the bridge and see people approaching Oktoberfest and say "OMG! What happened to the Big Bad Wolf?!"

RE: BGW's FB Page

Not everyone on that page keeps up with the park like us. I just recently realized Disney's River Country was closed for 10 years. I don't keep up with that park so I'm not going to know everything thats gone and new.

RE: BGW's FB Page

It's not just parks I have alot of customers calling me for Saturn parts.
When i tell them Saturn went out of business in Oct last year they are totally shocked

On an unrelated note: I'm sad about all of the discontinuations of car brands. We recently lost Pontiac, Saturn, and Mercury. :(

I'm not. That has expedited the rehab of Test Track per GM!

IT BEGINS! From Facebook:

Busch Gardens, we are season pass holders and have long enjoyed your park. But I was absolutely disgusted at the German show I saw today for Howl-O-Scream (even though HOS wasn't supposed to start until 6). I felt like I was in some nasty bachelor party. Please live up to your reputation as a family park and get those performers some better costumes and some cleaner shows.

Just a little warning for folks going during the day with children...the show over at the fest house (Germany) is NOT suitable for kids. It’s a sleazy burlesque show. We missed the fine printed disclaimer on the map/show info saying it was an adult themed show. Families beware.

That didn't take long.

Frankly, both sides of the argument are now getting quite mind-numbing over there...

This thread literally makes my forehead hot, lol. Whenever I like something on facebook I ignore their updates and never post on their pages. Just to keep me from doing that kind of stuff.

Yeah really. It's not unreasonable for people to assume that this show would be more "kid friendly" given what's been there the past few years. But if you felt it was too "risque" for you're kids, just leave. Not the end of the world. I mean, good lord. On the flip side, there's really no reason to attack people who may have issues with the show like they're idiots.

RE: BGW's Facebook Page

I feel that there's nothing wrong with defending the park from those who are upset for ignoring warnings or being exposed to content that you can see during the day on ABC. If they want to get on facebook and complain about the "strip joint", then there's nothing wrong with presenting the other side of the argument. It's not like the rest of the content there during the rest of the year is any better.

RE: BGW's Facebook Page

There was little to indicate that the show would be as suggestive as it is. But just as it's unfair to get the vapors over it, it's equally unfair to paint everyone that might be critical of the show as being prudes, nutcases, or idiots. That's all I'm saying.

RE: BGW's Facebook Page

You do make a good point, the name calling as just as bad. That being said, it's just facebook. Is it racy? Of course. It's just if people go on facebook and equate it to a burlesque show, I have no problem comparing them to amish housewives if they go out of the way to complain about it on a public forum.

It's fine if you think it's too racy, I can totally see it. But don't complain because you assumed it would be family friendly (to your accectable level at least) during Halloween, a time that's pretty notable for being non-family friendly. I do wish that BG would put up signs at the front, but if people ignore warnings like the adult theme warnings on the map, what's the point.

RE: BGW's Facebook Page

Well, a couple of other points: It has been driven home that "before 6pm is child friendly" (let's always remember, BGW is a family theme park first and foremost). The Festhaus is the biggest, most popular eating area in the park. It's not unreasonable to assume you could go there at 1:00 in the afternoon to have lunch with your family and take in a show without having to even consider that there might be some questionable elements (honestly, I think this is my biggest issue with the whole thing.)

But I agree, they definitely should have a disclaimer posted right up front like they do at all the scare zones. Or like my wife said, maybe do a little tamer version during the day and a racier one after 6. Either (or both) of those suggestions seem perfectly reasonable to me.

RE: BGW's Facebook Page

I do agree that as much as they did push "before 6 is safe" thing, they really should be doing a better job informing people about that show. At the same time, and I've said it before, there's no content that families can't be exposed to during the day at Walmart, daytime soap operas, on the radio, the beach, WCUSA, ect. The original fiends wasn't a Disney level show either, they brought it back because families really enjoyed it and I guess dialed the notch up a bit to fit with the trend of sexy Halloween costumes. I still don't think that it's such a shock to see that kind of content during Halloween.

You make a good point with it's location, but at what point do they have to cater to families during this time of year and put on Elmo shows anyplace there might be kids. I would really love to see demographic numbers for HoS to see how many people are families with young kids vs teens and adults. Maybe I'm just jaded after working with kids and their parents at the park in the past and hearing tons of complaints about how there are things that aren't accessible to all kids.

I am fine with a toned down during the day, but after 6 keep the original show.

On topic with the facebook thing: My main issue with the people is that they're comparing it to an entirely different level than it is. If they bring it to that level, I have no problem having fun down at their level. I'm also going to defend the park on this matter since I feel that since warnings exist on maps that most people take, people did have some warning.
