RE: BGW's FB Page

Yea all the parents on the page are getting quite ticked off over all this "spam." Whoever's in charge of that page is going to have their work cut out for them in the morning.

RE: BGW's FB Page

I totally agree with calling things what they are. Thank you very much.

And yeah, well. I honestly think BGW needs some serious marketing help....

RE: BGW's FB Page

From what I could gather, this was for the finalist competition. The readers have some say, but the pretzel company is the one who chooses the finalists to go to BG, but BG is getting the crap for it now... I am going to guess that bg or snyder's found that that person broke some rules so they did not pic them

RE: BGW's FB Page

So looks like alot of parks pages were getting spamed with porn.......

Their problem is they only have one person who maintains their Twitter page and one that does FB. One. Exclusively.

That's kinda ridiculous, there should be a team of at least three people managing their sites including FB and Twitter pages. Or better yet, create their own department (if they haven't yet) dedicated to this. Like a "Department of New Media" or something like that.

RE: BGW's FB Page

I've never understood why it takes more than one person to manage their Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, etc. I would love to see what they actually do all day because I can guarantee you that what they do publicly on their social networks couldn't possibly fill their day. Also, would it really be that hard to glance at the BGW Twitter/Facebook page once or twice after they got off work? It would just take two seconds to realize "O, this page that I'm in charge of is covered in porn. Maybe I should fix this."

I would gladly take that job and monitor it all the time! I would even have a Howl o'scream site up sooner than a week before it started.

RE: BGW's FB Page

I agree with Swift. The return would not be financially round with the cost to employee the individual. The number of posts or "fans" on the wall does not justify it either. Don't get me wrong it has an extremely huge following. Disney and Universal have dedicated departments but take a visit to either of their's and notice the difference of "fans" and posts vs BGW.

RE: BGW's FB Page

Just like min_roadkill, I would gladly take the entire department's job and do it all myself for the pay that one of them earns.

RE: BGW's FB Page

Monitoring their pages are just a small part of their jobs. They're basically just people from the marketing dept that got volunteered into doing it.

(And I'm going to guess, they're not paid very much. Although I guess that's subjective...)

RE: BGW's FB Page

They actually said they were disabling posting on the page because of all the spam. That was two hours ago but people are still posting, including spammers.

RE: BGW's FB Page

I'm actually trying to convince my company that they need a Community Manager of sorts to create and handle pages on all the bigger social network sites. Its almost mandatory in todays day and age.
