RE: BGW's FB Page.

Anybody notice the random disappearance of Chris Kobelt?

RE: BGW's FB Page.

I can just imagine his training day. "Let's see...Is Chris Kobelt here? Ah yes, can I see you in the courtyard for some friendly criticism pertaining to your online affairs?" It would be great... :p

I just remember being told it was about 2 miles if you walk around the entire park.

I come up with about 1.3 miles from entrance gates, around the park, and back to the split in Scotland. (Of course Festa is not figured into that) This is using my software to calculate jogging distances.

RE: BGW's FB Page.

I hate to be "that guy" and bump this thread, but since you had previously been discussing this topic... What is BG's real stance on employees posting on FB about the park? I get that Chris Kobelt is REALLY EXCITED about everything all the time, but now every little comment has "I am an employee of Busch Gardens expressing my personal opinion" or something of the sort tacked on. Stating the park hours is not your opinion, kid, and you work the glow-necklace cart, so you're not privy to special info. I pop onto the FB pretty regularly to offer some info/debunk some junk, and it's getting pretty annoying to see everywhere, to the point I almost sent an e-mail this morning. I'm pretty sure other employees have posted there (and obviously on other sites) without having to be downright obnoxious about it.

RE: BGW's FB Page.

He feels that he's trying to be helpful. At least he's polite. And he probably feels that he's observing some sort of protocol by announcing that he is an employee. I wouldn't let it get to you.

It can actually get a person canned by giving an opinion after saying they are an employee. They stress that in orientations

RE: BGW's FB Page.

I am an employee stating my personal opinion here...

No really I am an employee and we're required to say that. To be honest though, stating park operating hours is not an opinion so he doesn't NEED to state he's an employee because anyone can say that employee or not. However, we are required to state it if we are giving personal opinions about the park like what we think people would enjoy or if we were to give out news about the park. We don't have to say we're stating a personal opinion, but we have to say we're employees. Hope I helped clear any misunderstandings up =)

RE: BGW's FB Page

Should I make BGWFans shirts with the quote, "I am an employee of Busch Gardens expressing my personal opinion"? It would be our own personal meme.

Heh.... I might wear that to the park to see what reaction I as a guest elicit from park employees.

RE: BGW's FB Page

Ugh, the latest trend on there is the "countdown." People filling up the whole wall with "I'm going Thursday!" "3 more days" "gonna beee theer mondayy." Good grief. Who cares? One guy has been posting for a month. "23 more days...22 more days...21 more days..." I'm mean really, all +150K Busch Gardens FB fans really care about how many days until you personally are going to the park? Really? And they need an update every single day?

Ah, the inflated sense of self-worth that is Facebook.

>End rant...<

Shaf, I could not agree more. Between that and asking about tickets and when their passes expire I have no clue which is worse.

RE: BGW's FB Page

Any of you guys see where one woman says there should be a funeral for BBW so that everyone has closure before the new ride starts construction? It's such a pitiful post i don't even know how to react to it haha

RE: BGW's FB Page

"but this could be one heck of a publicity stunt to get some FREE PRESS and make it seem like they care. "

Yeah, like the "Theme Park Loses it's Mind" headlines.

RE: BGW's FB Page

I think someone had a coaster that a lot of people liked, and did not get in the final competition and now everyone is complaining that they did not get in
