^ I'm sure that was the stated issue. The problem is, as far as I'm concerned, all clothes are costumes. Some are just more exaggerated than others. Building policies upon weak and poorly-defined formulations such as this one:

For the safety of our guests and performers, we do not allow costumes in the park any time of the year, but especially not during Howl-O-Scream®. Guests can visit one of our face-painting booths to get transformed into a favorite Halloween character.

...is a recipe for unfair discrimination and unhappy park guests.

I've seen so many goth kids at the park, it's hard to imagine what in the world they were wearing to have it be considered a costume. Because I've seen people in costume at the parks who were not employees. I've seen children in costume, I've seen younger teens in costumes. Hell I've seen adults in pirate costumes and vampire costumes. And then I've seen cosplayers, who should know better than that. (Especially considering that I know people who knew them.)

So it really makes me wonder what in the world they were wearing to begin with. (Although comparing it to racism is pushing it imo.)

I do feel there is a valid reason for the rule though. Having the possibility of guests dressing similar to scare actors opens up many doors for liability issues.

I think it's a hard and difficult thing to deal with, and I feel this is an issue that can almost never be solved one way or the other.

My guess is, that they only approach or stop people who wear outfits that are not usual to what they see on a daily basis.

As far as them wearing stuff, I have a friend at Guest Relations that told me two guys dressed in all black with some long chains and painted head to toe in all black paint claimed to be satanists and weren't allowed in last weekend. Not sure how true that is, but it's what I've heard.

idk who the "Beattles" are. But this is the Beat-Alls

To be fair they have since gotten rid of that sign (as far as I am aware). Seems the park management is learning, and modifying procedure as necessary.

The original concern:
Visited Howl-O-Scream on Sat the 27th, it rocked out as usual, my problem is Adventure photos, my daughter was told we could order her photos with the Fiends nurses online, but I do not see a link for that anywhere on their website, nor is there a webiste listed on the card.....come on BG, why would your employees give wrong information, I heard them say it myself, and so did 3 other adults with us?? Not only that I could not ride Griffon because there were wasps on the top of the ride and they couldn't call for maintenance....all they told riders was if you were allergic, you may want to skip this one REALLY??? Rethinking my seasons pass, you can and have done better in past years

The follow up post:
Cannot find my original complaint about photos from Saturday that I posted earlier today, they responded, here is the response I received if anyone is interested:
Hi Nancy,
My name is Travis Lojko, I am the Group Supervisor for the Photography locations at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. First off, I would like to apologize for your experience this past weekend. We are in the final stages of creating an online presence for photo products, but at this point the ability to purchase pictures online is not active, and I am sorry for the incorrect information you were given. We are able to assist you and your daughter in purchasing the photos if you would like. If you would still like to purchase your photos we can complete the transaction over the phone and ship them to you. Please email me back with a detailed description of who was in the photo (hair color, clothing, etc.) as well as a time frame of when the photo was taken, and I should be able to find the pictures in our systems. From there we can contact you via phone (if you include a preferred phone number where we could contact you) or email so you can select which package you would like.

My feelings on the matter:
Thank you for your timely response. My daughter and I have discussed this, and it just does not meet up with our expectations. There is NO guarantee that the correct photo can be found, printed and mailed to us, and at the prices charged, I don't feel that is a chance worth taking.
At best this is a poor excuse in customer service, an and extremely shoddy example of training practices this late in the season for an established amusement park.
I will also be making my point on my Facebook post, as, others have posted after me and were told the same thing on Sunday. This has been a problem dating for 2 years, check out the previous postings

The wasp incident was explained in an earlier phone call, they are in mating season, and they don't want to hurt aka, kill the wasps, so that makes sense, I get that. The incident with the photos makes no sense, and its an ongoing issue, as well as the expense that comes with it, its very disappointing, season passes going out the door for next year.

Someone else also posted near the same time as well:
I have already been in touch about one issue this past Saturday and now come across another issue. I Had a picture done with the nurses from the show Fiends, because I have made it a thing I do every year for howl-o-Scream. I really wanted to buy a picture because i bought a syringe jello shot from them, and I don't normally buy pictures, but found an exception. The people at the picture place told us and my mother that we could purchase them later online. Some friends of ours heard them say this as well. So we come home and we can't find anything online and hear they are in the final stages of creating the online site, but they can send us the pictures if we give a description of the time, day, place and what clothing/items we were wearing and send them in the mail. That would be fine, except for the fact that we would have to pay for them with no guarantee that they would be our pictures to begin with. We would find out when they would arrive in the mail. I'm sorry, that's a terrible process you have going. If I"m buying pictures I expect them to be mine and not someone else's. This is getting a little ridiculous now.I did plan on buying them too, but probably won't get the chance.

While I do agree that paying for something without seeing it and verifying it is a bit scary, I would still commend the park for at least trying to get them their pictures.

For those not familiar, the new program, PhotoKey is what the team member was advertising to them. As the park replied they are setting up something now. This is another reason why I think the program will be a neat tool for guests.
