From what ive seen on multipul mornings they tell you to go to the left through Italy for DK and some mornings there has been a sign with a arrow. They do only tell the people right at the front of the line as they are holding in Scotland. I know one morning of the first previews they let people go both ways and the italy way was much faster with about a full minute ahead of people coming through New France.

Anyone tried shooting across the Rhine? Was always the direct path I took to get to DK before anyone else, even if it is cruel and unusual punishment.

But I guess if they hold in Scotland for the Rhine crossing, and hold in Italy for the bridge, at that point in Italy you are a bit closer to the ride.

They were telling us at the Scotland entrance as we were waiting for the rope drop there that DK wasn't open till 10:30.

It was blocked off at Nessie's entrance and wasn't going to open till 10:30 per the employee at the employee at the top of the stairs.
I wouldn't be surprised if Italy was the fastest and most direct route because it requires the least terrain change and has the longest straight line sequence of the 3 routes. My problem will be walking past Pantheon if I am rope dropping DK.
From m what we were told it was supposed to be Seasme opening at 10:00 and then everything through to the Entrance to San Marco 10:15 With everything else open at 10:30 We were standing in front of DK at 10:33 and looking at 150 minute wait no way that many people beat us there if they truly opened the area at 10:30 as they were saying.

I'll be going to the park on June 4th. Can't wait to ride DarKoaster. I have a few questions. How is Darkoaster's last couple of rows? I generally ride a lot of coasters in the middle and back, due to the pull you get from the launch.

^Just due to the nature of this being a family ride, there's not really a difference in forces from front to back. The launches are tire driven, but more forceful than you'd probably expect.

I did notice that in the back row on the 3rd launch, the train starts accelerating before the last car is totally off the switch track, so it kind of "snaps" into the launch there. A cool comparison: Volcano did something similar!

I notice very little difference from front to back. Every time I have ridden it they have been assigning rows I see no reason to argue on which seat to take. But I do have a string preference that left side is a better ride then right.

I actually think most of this theming looks pretty good given the parks recent history for theming new rides. I really like the wraith-looking dudes, they are quite cool. And I know not everything will be perfect when theming a coaster (I still don't know what granny says on the Copperhead Strike launch). I say all this because those clouds.....I hope they look better in the dark. Because they are.....a choice.
Agreed. At least this theming has 3D elements and not just flat cutouts. I still find it a little sparse inside.

I'm sure the park is seeing a lot of the reviews. Everyone wants an intense experience. The company probably took the indoor family ride theme too literal. If kids were able to ride the Early 2000s era of the Mummy at Universal, they could easily handle a few intense launches and SFX. Given the amount of exposure to horror/suspense that today's families are exposed, to I think the park may have missed a lot of opportunities with this ride.

Here's a unique idea. Let's consider the amount of technology available in todays time. One could have said that DarKoaster could create different storm effects. At least give us some fog during the second run of the course. I'd really like to see what this ride could do if elements changed by the season.

From what I am hearing this is not the case my understanding is that the results from the average guests are very positive about the ride. How much if that is it's new and shiny and drawing a lot of attention I can't say but I think the mistake some here are making is to look to closely at the enthusiast community reviews and assume that the general population follows right around with them.

Yeah, key thing to learn especially for the younger enthusiasts on here.

The general public by comparison to thoosies, doesn't give a rat's ass about the level of detail on theme park attractions. Yes you will get odd comments here and there, most people don't even remember the major attraction names. I had somebody snap on me at a Richmond Flying Squirrels game for asking them if they remembered "Apollo's Chariot" an attraction they actually rode with me at the park 50 minutes away. When you realize stuff like that you kinda start to catch on to the bigger picture. That along with the odd inquiry from somebody if a ride goes upside down when you're standing next to the Cobra Roll or something.

Regulars to the parks that are not enthusiasts, do notice little details but at the same time it's probably 20% or less of the level most of us can be that post on forums like this.

As I matured as an enthusiast/adult, this was objectively painful and unpleasant to catch on to and realize when you are as passionate about this as we are.

I think that might be a bit overstated.
Eh I mean it's all case by case. Some people are more enthusiastic about the stuff without being enthusiasts, others think about how much money they're spending on food for all their kids. I may be providing more extreme examples. I was once explained to how "most people just ride the roller coaster, and like that's it?" like I was wasting my time being "interested at all."
