EDIT: Saw the post from BGW's Insta. The sign does look better from the side, that head-on picture is unflattering.

I'm not a big fan of the new sign either. However, at least DarKoaster now has a sign... where after a full year now, Tumbili at KD is still waiting for its own sign.
I actually didn't notice Tumbili didn't have a sign. But that's because the rest of the presentation was that good.

So is Holovis comparable in quality to Falcon's, or are they the budget option and this is more cost-cutting SEAS?

Groaners coming in 3...2...1...

I hope this sign isn't a sign of things to come.
Who signed off on this sign?
I don't think this is the sign we signed up for.
This sign is truly a sign of the times for BGW.
Who designed this sign?
I'd like to know who they had in mind as the cosigner on this sign design.
Regardless, whoever it is, they may want to consider their choices and resign.

I'll see myself out, just let me find the exit sign.

There's a real open question over whether or not BGW can actually use any "Curse of DarKastle" branding, scenic, media, dialog, iconography, identifiers, etc. This isn't new either. BGW hasn't been shy about merchandising popular defunct attractions, but they've never made anything at all for DarKastle. Even during its time at the park, DarKastle was notoriously very merch-lite (making DarKastle merch very rare).
This water bottle may very well be the only DarKastle merch I have. I can't recall if they ever made a lunch box? If so, there is probably one buried under a heap of junk in one of my kid's closets.

I think I really like the sign. It is a little kooky, reminds me of the Munsters. And yes this will not be the same style as the previous ride, louder might be a good term. What I didn't like about the DarKastle sign was the cloud of background, when seeing that picture of it yesterday first response was no idea what I was even looking at.

In person, I think it works. A lot of the earlier photos made it look really flat, but in person, there's some nice dimensionality to it. Some of the photos made it feel awkwardly undersized too. Didn't feel that way at all to me standing outside the ride.

Looks just painted which makes it tough to show depth in pictures.

I'd love to see Howl-o-Scream overlays become a reality for some rides, but as a brand new very marketable ride (and one that already has a scary vibe) this just doesn't seem likely. A few years down one its no longer new, I could see this being slightly more likely as marketing could use it as a way to drive ticket sales once again.

Almost like they have a motion sim theater perfect for making seasonal experiences where you can click a button and the ride system will load a different pre-coded ride.

Getting off topic a bit but...

Wasn't that sim abandoned because of either parts scarcity or low ROI/cost, so it's highly unlikely we're going to see any related experience in that space for awhile?

Though new SEAS capex investments are crazy, I can't see them using that space as the next DK either.

Continuing the off topic, to me as long as these types of sims are still an outside of entertainment industry standard and Disney continues to operate star tours even though there is never a line for it, there is nothing holding BGW back from utilizing that ride system other than their own creativity (or lack thereof).

I rode Wave Breaker and Hagrids in the past 2 years and I would expect the restraints to be the same as those two (Hagrids bike configuration that is). I didn’t think the sensor on Wave Breaker was particularly strict personally, I was 6’3 328 back then for Wave Breaker and 315 for Hagrids. I would make the argument they are more accommodating than something like Twisted Timbers.

At this point if it improves my day at BGW in a significant way like InvadR or Tempesto I’m happy with the addition especially if it’s more than “Wave Breaker in a box.”
Just be glad it's even in a box, SWO just lost its last indoor ride to (most likely) "Wave Breaker not in a box" and it rains there daily most of the year.
