I wonder if they even remember VB has multiple effect sequences. They probably forgot the logo has a lightning bolt in it too. Really want to know what themes this was up against in the theming brainstorm session, "snowy thunderstorm with snowmobiles" couldn't of been the golden solution.
I think it's a little unfair to judge the theme on a short CGI clip likely produced by a third party. I think based on presentation there is significant promise to what we saw.

Execution could be great, I just don't like the storm direction. Personal view. You can disagree with my opinion and like the storm choice yourself, that's perfectly fine and good conversation. But writing off a personal distaste for the theme by calling it "unfair" or "too early" in an attempt to make an objective ruling over a subjective opinion is kinda goofy.

Is there any chance given the ride system and/or ride itself, of them running one of those snow machines that makes it look like it snows indoors but never reaches the ground.

I think the (defunct)Williamsburg Yankee Candle used to have one in the Christmas room.

Kinda of make use of the storm theme more

Maybe? I think that one was made of soap bubbles or something similar, which while great because they fade away quickly and don't accumulate, may be problematic around a coaster track/systems?

To be fair to them, the fact that BGW didn't embargo traditional media so they could have their articles prewritten is mindboggling to me. I was able to pre-write my piece thanks to leaks—traditional media didn't have that luxury though. BGW is shooting themselves in the foot with the inevitably poor reporting that results from frantic, thrown-together articles like this.
They also didn’t provide anyone of the media with media packets/stats at the event as they usually do. We all had to get our info from here or Kevin’s 30 seconds of talking 😂

Anyone find issue with the height requirement being 48 when they badly needed a 42 in ride?
I think it would be worth considering the guest base that falls in that 6" range. It is the difference between average heights of a 6 year old and an 8 year old. I don't feel like first grade me would've been too distraught if I was too short for this coaster when I was too short for every other coaster.

Considering it’s marketed at families, that 6” is a pretty big difference in that demographic. Kids rides is definitely an area that BGW is lacking in and going to 48” on this ride doesn’t improve this much.

That’s pretty cool.

From the video and pictures you can see where they have already built around the portion between the two switch tracks. I haven't seen anyone mention that it contains 2 quick switch tracks in any reporting today, so it's possible that's gone unnoticed.

I believe that they kept guests to the far end by the roll up door and didn't give them a full tour. If so it's possible that anyone that hasn't followed bgwfan's reporting might be unaware of the switch tracks as they wouldn't be visible and BGW doesn't seem to be mentioning that part.

It’s certainly an area that needs to be better. But this seems to be a thing with the model than anything else on the height, which means for them to get that they would have had to do a different model. They really need to go for a wild mouse model for that height range. There’s interestingly few models that really hit that 42” mark.

Also, just a note from what I'm seeing the Name of this ride is just DarKoaster. The "escape the storm" is just a marketing tagline that will be used during the initial campaign but isn't part of the official name.
Thank God. Maybe the font for the sign at the front of the ride will be different too. A man can dream.

There are plenty of options beyond a Wild Mouse at that height range (e.g. Vekomas and Mack’s at Disney), though Intamin may not be able to make lower heights work in their vehicles.

Main issue is marketing a 48” coaster to families is a lot of families won’t meet the height requirement plus older guests may not be interested in what is a family coaster.
