Launching would be a way to keep a long slow ride going, or mix in story elements, but low intensity tire-based launches could be sufficient
I'd greatly prefer a tire launch over an LSM on this coaster.

Don't tire-based lifts/launches have issues in the rain? This is one more advantage a fully enclosed coaster would have. Also, aren't tire launches less noisy than LSMs? No piercing screech at least.

I wonder if this could be one of those new Intamin spinning coasters like the space themed one in France.
What if its the first S&S axis coaster

Unlikely but to entertain the concept - one cool thing they could figure out is near-miss elements where by sheer speed and angular forces you'll be rotated out of the way of set pieces and whatnot inside the building.

However, with the size of the building that exists it's unlikely the layout they'd be forced to use would be able to take full advantage of the ride concept even if it launched.

Now, if they plan on shooting it out over the existing parking lot and thus giving more space for the layout and less height restrictions (outside of the usual under 60' over grade county restriction without further permitting), then maybe a different story. But with KM really close to that side of the park my guess is, short of building a new building or pulling some Disaster Transport nonsense to enclose the track and envelope, it's unlikely the park will want to touch that parking lot.

I was mostly taking the piss. Also somehow doubt they would be able to get a near miss element approved that would become a 100% Hit should the axis rotation fail to rotate. Someone getting smashed in the face at 45mph by a plaster gargoyle because of a mechanical failure would be terrible PR.

Let's be real with any such near-miss - there's little probability that the ride envelope would have anything intentionally placed within it.

More likely it'd be an illusion of near-miss where the ride is going fast enough to distort the distance.

Additionally, as an added precaution if they did stick set pieces or props in the envelope is to set them up to move out of the way and/or make them break-away so even if the ride vehicle smacks them at full force all it'd do is send it flying away from the train - scaring the hell out of the guests but otherwise not harming them.

Okay, I have an idea. What if it was one of the Dynamic Attractions SFX Coasters? I know they’ve only built one (that didn’t open, only tested), but it would be another way to do dark ride/coaster combo.
