Agreed, BGW will already be the launch coaster capital of the world.

I understand the use of launches since there is very little height available, but we don't need a Verbolten Jr.
Why not? Something between the Sesame Street coaster and the bigger ones for the kiddos?

Vekoma’s new gen coasters look solid. Launch coasters take up less room and it’s meant to be a family coaster. My best guess is a launch flying coaster will be the first of its kind in the United States

I still can’t understand why they filed an extension for the height waiver less than 6 months ago and have totally taken on this new project; must be that this project is less cost rather than the massive construction for the Festhaus project. Not gonna lie.... very sad to not have that project going forward.... but this should hopefully be a return to theming and I like the utilization of an existing building/space. Don’t think this will be anything extraordinary but will be a decent addition to the park. Btw... any idea if this was a project already in the works or something expedited to replace DrachenSpire?

It's easier to keep the height waiver active than let it expire and have to file an all-new one with the whole process of public hearing and jcc voting.

Or it's possible that they are changing the second Intamin project to this ride instead.

My understanding is that they were considering redoing the ideas and changing manufacturers for drachenfire plot. They would just have the issue that they have been paying Intamin for a second ride after Pantheon since before the pandemic. That investment is significant and I don't think the park would want to just throw it out, but I could see them moving it to a different location within the park.

Don't know if this is Intamin, but if it is then I think it's very likely that Drachenspire is dead and something new will be coming to that plot

THIS is the theory I am choosing to subscribe to. An indoor launched Intamin family coaster + something better than Drachen Spire by a different manufacturer is my dream scenario tbh

I'm not sure how they can get 48", let alone anything less, for a rider minimum with a flying coaster. Let's hope that the flying coaster is instead Drachen Spire's replacement.

I'm guessing anyone who is in the decision making team at SEAS whom may also be reading this thread is probably laughing at how wrong we collectively are to what to expect for the final products.

That being written - do we think the new DK ride is going to include story immersion and/or interactive elements, or be a mildly themed ride in a box?

This gets me awfully excited to see that some of you would want a Flying Coaster especially after the concepts I've created for Festhaus Park. I would love to see Drachen Spire canceled and see an Intamin family coaster in DarKastle instead of it.

I want another flyer to go up so bad honestly after my glorious experience with Manta this past summer. I loved Superman when I rode it at GAdv years ago but it didn't have calming music on the lift hill, an aquarium for a queue, theming, and extensive landscaping with several close misses. I think I just laid out the argument for why Manta is better than Superman clones. But yeah I agree if Drachen Spire is replaced by a cool themed indoor intamin coaster experience (crossing my fingers for the bike trains honestly) and we go a totally different route for Festhaus Park I am all for it. At the same time if Drachen Spire comes anyway I won't be upset either.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a new gen Vekoma like Lech Coaster back there (wouldn’t mind it being just a clone lol)

Gosh if only there was someone who knows basically every component of the ride we are guessing about that could somehow find a way to compile all of this information into one place, say like an article for example, and post it on a secondary site for us to provide additional traffic to.

So a thought this makes 4 launch coasters if memory serves me correctly KD only ever had three OPERATING ones at a time does that mean in 2023 BGW officially breaks the record and becomes the launch capital of the world?

The most KD had operating at one time to my knowledge was 3. They had 4 extant at the same time but due to power issues Flight of Fear only operated when Volcano was closed for the day. The next season the issues between Flight of Fear and Volcano got worked out and Hypersonic XLC got removed.

So Pantheon will tie, and either DarKoaster or Drachen Spire will break the launch record.
