THIS. Having worked at Kings Dominion you have no idea the time, effort, and money it takes to allow cash. Not to mention the inevitable theft that happens with cash that will be almost completely eliminated with this change. This is a no brainer from the park’s perspective. I don’t think most people realize how much goes on behind the scenes to actually accommodate almost every POS station in the park taking cash. This requires a team of full time staff that has to count and audit every single till, investigate discrepancies, and keep all of the drawers sufficiently stocked throughout the day. Plus this frees up the security staff who would have to escort the cash and supervise the transfers everyday. This also opens up the park to be able to place pop up shops and kiosks all over the park without having to rely on hard-wired POS terminals for cash transactions. They’ll save hundreds of thousands in labor each year and be able to streamline the operation. This move was probably an absolute no-brainer.
It's even funnier because Cash isn't based on anything tangible. He should be throwing a fit and insisting on paying in gold or silver instead, otherwise he's just punking himself. The funny thing about the socialism guy is I can bet you $10 that he doesn’t actually know what socialism is![]()
