They are just getting it prepared so they can replace it with a parking garage. It should catch fire in the next few days.

You beat me to it! I was going to say the same thing. Why repave it when they're should(are) just replace it with a parking garage!

The Christmas lights around the England Sky ride stop have been changed out the now also have glass panels protecting them from damage.

Those lights have been a huge safety issue for years. In numerous places the spt-1 zip cord is just cut with no connector or covering leaving the conductor non insulated for anyone to touch. That is line voltage and will surely give you a jolt.

I am very surprised by the wear and tear that the shade structure is getting after only two years. I guess running twisted steel cable through wood might not have been their best idea... Seriously though. At this rate, a 2-3 more years and the shade structure will have to be redone.

It's acting like a saw. Everytime someone sits on the cable while in queue, another small chunk gets sawed out. The problem is, the more it saws out, the more slack in the cable. The more slack in the cable, the more length on each pull to saw more of the hole out. It's an exponentially increasing issue.

It seems like that cabling in InvadR's queue could be switched to rope fixing the entire problem with minimal effort (and making more sense thematically), no? They may have to replace it one or twice a year, but that's way better than having to rebuild the whole structure once that cable eats through enough of the shade structure.

If I constructed that, I would of placed a small metal conduit tube inside the drill hole in the wood, so that the cable wouldn't have chewed threw the hole.

Aka grommet. But yes, a grommet would have helped immensely

Considering the backyard fence with stencils, the queue pretty much appears to be "what can we do with the small amount of budget remaining?"
