Seen the split in the pumpkin yesterday. Then in looking a little closer to it you can see that toward the top and the bottom there are two sets of holes that are for a bolt or other fastener to go in there to hold the sections together. You can see them in Luke's pictures if zoomed in. So whoever put that up didn't use the fasteners, didn't have them, or forgot. I can't believe that the park didn't notice this and fix it. But then again it would have deprived us of the butt jokes.

Do we know of a reason so much shrubbery was cut back in Killarney? It used to be my favorite village because of how lush and green it was, and it feels more barren and less magical now.

Its actually bad to allow vines to grow on buildings particularly for long periods because vines tend to find cracks in the building structure and grow inside them. In fact we had to completely replace our roof a few years back because vines had gotten in there and had ruined the structural integretity leading to large amounts of water damage which had to be repaired.
Even so I miss the wisteria terribly. These vines now also being removed is very sad, though I do understand the park's reasoning. I just wish Ireland was, as Joe said, lush and green like it once was.
where i live, we have a bar/dive where their outside area (when its summer time people chill out there to eat and listen to music) has a large net strung from a pole and spread atop the space with wisteria growing on it. in the summer time, its very beautiful and provides a nice shade.

The wisteria vines are still on the trellises outside of what is now O'Tators.
Yes, and they're SO gorgeous especially when they're in bloom. I do miss the wisteria on the other side of Ireland though, near Celtic Fyre and the pass-through. It was sooooo nice and green.
So many places this could go. Killarney, Shrubbery, and here. This is where we are talking about it now so...Killarney's culling is more extensive than some may have noticed.
