I just wish they would give ALL of festa some love. It just brings down the aesthetic of the park. Its like you have all these nice areas in the park then its brought down by that.
One thing I always notice is that both of the train tressels need a coat of paint on the railings. Both of them are nothing but rust and they have been for a few years now. I don't know if there's some reason they aren't painted but there has to be some sort of maintenance done on them during the off season and a safety inspection. I did a little research and couldn't find anything prohibiting the railings being painted.
Yeah, in my lifetime, I have never seen the trestle rails with paint, and I don't think they ever did have paint throughout the history of the park. I think the rust color gives them a lot of character, however.
So, I have no idea if anyone has any interest in this old thread anymore, but I was still wondering about the clock in Rhinefeld. Did it ever get fixed? I haven't seen it working any time I've gone but I could just be missing it or not paying attention.
Can I express my absolute disdain for whatever pop bull crap they're playing in San Marco this year? Why in the world was that necessary? It's so awkward walking from classical, thematic music to pop, back to classical music again. It's kind of jarring honestly.
I don't even care if some of it reminds me of the old German music that my Oma listened to. Even she said that type of music was "junk".
Anyway, the only song that somewhat grasps at the true heart of the area is Trieste mia, by Teddy Reno. It only matches because of the romantic sound, which is universal in many big European countries (Romantic French, Italian, and German/Berliner Nacht Musik).
Edit: The German name for that type of music is Schlager. Here is a Wikipedia article about it.
Coaster painting aside, I was surprised to see that really no work was done in any of the queue areas. I don't think it would take much money to repaint the queue rails, etc. every year. Not to mention the Verbolten queue still looks horrible with missing wall art, shredded books, etc.
Ugh those flags....two old ones compared to the new one. Busch Gardens please if you have to keep those flags up at least make sure they match. Looks really tacky.
