As you enter the Festhaus there is a beer booth on the right. The plaque is hangin on the post next to it. It is sitting very high; 6'+.

Many public venues worldwide have erected bronze statues to salute those that have brought joy and entertained generations.
I think that this forum, it's members and fans of Busch Gardens in general, should urge, petition... do whatever it takes...to have SEAS/BGW commission a statue of Mr. Bauman and place it in front of his "home" Das Festhaus.
The statue of him in full costume would, as he did for decades, welcome all to Das Festhaus!

Seriously, the guy deserves more recognition in the park.
I suggested a Bob Bauman day in some other thread having nothing to do with Bob Bauman.

With all this talk about the unofficial mayor, does anyone have information on Bob Bauman, the official Burgermeister (Mayor) of Busch Gardens 1975 - 2002?

Just some pieces. Burgermeister Bob Bauman had been doing his simple, understated German song-and-dance performance at Busch Gardens since the day the theme park opened back in 1975 until he retired in 2002.

And not just as Burgermeister. Bob Bauman as Leonardo da Vinci at Busch Gardens in 1980.
The current "Mayor" is a joke compared to this respected legend. And Mr. Bauman deserves a better tribute to his contribution than a half hidden plaque.

Busch Gardens really has gotten worse over the years.
Some good memories drinking with him…..best story was when we had seen every show one day and around 4pm we were asked by security to leave. It was a group of about 20 of us and we had created a mountain of empty cups.
