"grover's happyland coaster" ~ oh man that is too funny. I call it "Grover's Happy meal Coaster" as you could easily find a similar product in a Happy Meal.
OK- I know, I am super mean to Sesame Street, but here is the rub. My belief is to have a good park for kids; parents have to have fun too. If they used say, "the Muppets" vs. Sesame Street it would be universally popular with both children and adults. I cannot remember what animator/ creator once said this, and I paraphrase.."Make the cartoons for the parents because for each child there are two more adults forced to watch and you have a hit show."
If Busch Gardens made the kids park with the parents in mind.. both the kids and adults would be happy. For example - no trees; big mistake. The kids are off riding their sad little rides and the parents have no place to sit in the shade. Have a place where the parents and kids can climb around and both play in, which is why the big tree in land of the Dragons is so cool. I admit it; I go and climb around on it from time to time (and then douse my hands with Purell). I would also sell items for parents in these places.. my dad always had a coffee in his hand; in fact I think that cup o' joe may have been an actual appendage that grew out of his arm over time.
Another point is that the music and sounds are horrid in Sesame Street.. there is only so much an adult can take of squeaky, grating voices and tinky-tink music. BGW would benefit from toning it down and having a sanity break for the parents.
Yes, I know this post has nothing to do with permits as I got completely off topic.. but my thoughts on the building permit debate is this:
If BGW does in fact get their permit for 250ft, I would have to imagine it would be a coaster. If they placed it over the hill where the BBW was, it could technically add "additional" footage to the coaster making it taller than 250 ft. This would be wise for BGW in order to compete with the Intimidator at KD.
To follow-up they should build a smaller coaster nearby, like a Vekoma "family suspended" coaster. (Like a mini BBW) Here is the link: http://www.vekoma.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=10 BGW should build a coaster for young adults like this.. and of course, name it something that has "Wolf" in it.
