You guys just have no investigative inclination. I care enough to know what's going on and why.

Like Sherlock Holmes, or Nielsen.

I'm laughing at the idea that someone as big as Vangelis gives a damn that some theme park used their incredibly common song that I hear just about everywhere.

He gives a damn because that song has been his steady income since 1981.

I'm guessing his legal team has web searches set up, and paperwork drawn up just waiting for a defendant's name to be filled in when something pops up. We may be able to thank chickenking for all of this: both chickenking's playlist for Dig it Up and the lawsuit are dated 9/17/12.

Thanks, chickenking!

EDIT: Perhaps it was Zach's video proof that nailed it... Thanks, Zach!

-Takes bow- lol

All I want in return is guaranteed unlimited access to bacon wrapped pork shanks in Ireland at the Talking Tree. And oh yeah, put ADULT GRILLED CHEESE back on the HOS menu for whatever Banquet. While we're at it, please quit f*^^*'in with the performers in all of the live shows. :p

This is every song and artist! Their songs are their income. It's how they make money to live. I would be mad too.

What I don't understand about this is why the park just didn't pay ASCAP and BMI the blanket fee that covers them for all the music that is registered by them. They would then be safe. Otherwise they would have to report usage for each song on an individual basis.

In reading up on this writers/artist can only pick one of the two agencies to register their songs with. They can't do both but publishers can use all of them. Actually there's a third agency (SESAC) out there but they can only be joined if invited by them. If you don't join and then register your song you're on your own.
