Gave the Bacon Wrapped Pretzel another go this afternoon. Sad to say it was another disappointment. Once again, it just didn't seem very fresh and it didn't have a lot of flavor. Later in the evening I ran into a good friend who had given this thing a try today as well. His experience pretty much mirrored my own. What gives?!?! o_O

I tried it early in the morning, it was fresh; however, there was barely any salt on the pretzel which really needed it. Nice thick cut of bacon though. Still not worth the $9 and change they charge for it.

New sign but no posted price.  Thus far...not worth it. :(

I tried a Bacon Wrapped Pretzel Monday night. Mine was fresh, it looked very much like the one in CK's picture from Pass Member ride night. There was only one piece of bacon though, and for the price, that's not enough. It tasted decent. When I asked the guy for it, it seemed like at first he didn't know what I was talking about. It took him forever to just get one out of the heating container. If it had two pieces of bacon it probably would've been a lot better, but other than that, it was fresh and tasty.

Brautwurst Pretzel Sandwich: Split Braut on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut, mustard, and cheeze. Great flavor, but the soggy sauerkraut combined with the segmented deteriorates the sand which very quickly and the kraut also overwhelms the taste of the meat. Pictures incoming later. 7/10

First let me say that I believe that there are few things bacon does not make better.

That being said, I was disgusted by the Pretzel Bacon thing. I asked a few questions and I know why. The bacon is inserted basically raw and is cooked while the pretzel bakes. This means all the bacon fat drippings that most of us discard are soaked up by the pretzel. For me, this is not a tasty addition. Bacon Fat is good to cook with it is not tasty on its own.

So I was taking a walk around the park today and decided to stop into Beste Brezeln und Bier for some water and, what to my wondering eyes should appear.

It did look a bit fresher then previously, and I was told they are being made throughout the day.

When I ate mine a couple weeks ago it was pretty fresh, just way overpriced, I might buy them more frequently now.

I know it's merely a matter of semantics and ontology, but it's really pretzel-wrapped bacon.

it is gross, whatever it is. I had one, and was told it had just come out.

Here is the thing, the bacon is not cooked when it is wrapped up ergo it cooks in the oven as the pretzel bakes.

The bacon fat that would normally be discarded is absorbed by the bread.

I LOVE bacon and generally feel there is little that is not made better by its presence; however here all you get is a bacon fat flavor in a greasy pretzel and little meat.

All in all 1/10

The Chili Pretzel Bowl was really good yesterday. My husband devoured it very quickly. Many more onions in the chili than what was in the regular chili at Dasher's Diner. He could not finish the Pretzel Bowl it was so large. I got the Bacon, I didn't hate it.

That's the tiniest pretzel I've ever seen. I'd hand it back over the counter and walk out. What the hell?

WTH, indeed. They were all that size. And over $6. I'd have to check old receipts but I thought they were in the high 4s before.

^ The obvious. However, reduced portions AND price increases should NOT be tolerated. A daily pretzel from here is no longer mandatory during visits and likely no longer an option for us. As Zachary stated, "I'd hand it back over the counter and walk out" for the value I'm getting. We will check back in for improvements to decide if it is a lost cause.
