Quite the little birdie that snagged this pic

@Zachary will this be a title change? Or should there be a completely new post for this updated ride?

I'm just renaming the thread for now.

My understanding of the extent of this project is that the wooden tower is being replaced with a new steel one and select tube sections are being entirely replaced to facilitate the new effects. It's a very exciting project!

That said, that new name sucks. Aquazoid is supposed to be a big Godzilla-like monster... Wouldn't Aquazoid Unleashed or something else make way more sense...? How does one supercharge a monster? Knowing BGW, no one in the park actually knows anything about the story concept behind Aquazoid though... Watch Aquazoid be a sports car now... ?

One would think that the huge billboard in front of the ride would be a fairly clear giveaway... But yeah.

I wonder if part of the decision to go with steel for the structure was due to having to run additional electrical to power the effects.

True, if they hadn't finalized the name, they would probably just say "Improvements to the Aquazoid water slide" or something like that.

Nah its just a gundam now

Don't want to sound like an ingrate, but I really hope the next attraction is truly an addition instead of replacement/upgrade.

I'm very excited about this redo though, especially since aquazoid can pull tons of people to the line. Past couple years it seemed to have dropped in popularity though.

I suspect that this was just a target of opportunity rather than a part of long term planning. 'zoid needed a new tower. While having the tower down and contractors onsite it is relatively cheaper to bundle in some revamp/upgrades.
