Does anyone remember that store called “Ski Mart” or whatever that you could enter from Germany and it would drop you right into Alpie’s plaza? I just randomly thought about it, when Covid happened it just never reopened, it was super convenient trying to get/find Alpie. Or that pizza place under Apollo’s drop.
Ski mart has been turned into an entertainment usage area for the hideaway show.
And the one under Apollo’s is now used for birthday parties. (The patio at least)
I remember when the pizza place was converted into a buffet styled after a long running offering in bgt. It never seemed to be very successful and I think many folks just didn't wander back there, especially when rapids wasn't open.
I do recall that made the rapids cannons a double upcharge for a while though.

I love Alpie but for whatever reason riding it can be a migraine trigger for me when no other coasters are. IDK if anyone else here deals with migraines, but I learned that a good preventative is taking an Excedrin as soon as I get to the park! Hopefully this information is useful to someone. :3
Did I just ride this thing on a good day or something? Why do so many people think it’s a rough headbanger? Just keep your head forward!
The mid course today is hitting so much harder than I remember. It's almost a complete stop.
All in all though it's hauling a ton of ass today. I was spotty in the eyes starting at the end of the loop to the end of the cobra roll. The trains are only around 10 people full too. Insane

Most likely weather-related as some local cities in the 757 made it to the low 90s today. The warmer the weather, the faster the trains will run and unfortunately that mid-course will hit a lot harder.
I miss the opening year rides when the lift hill brake was off all season and the mid-course barely touched the train.
I kinda figured the warmer weather is probably why. I mean it NOTICABLY get around the turn before the midcourse faster than it was weeks ago
If anyone is in the park rn, RIDE Alpengeist!!! It’s absolutely flying right now and so is Apollo. Both have been running phenomenal all day. Both of their second half's are forceful despite trims.
Weirdly I did notice some positives on the final helix today…..
I rode it twice today. 1st ride was pretty normal and the 2nd was faster but nothing that made me think it was any faster than normal. The mid coarse is so fucking ass man. I know its needed but man its rough
