Weekend work is happening since they NEED to finish coaster assembly in the next seven days, as construction is currently blocking off all paths to the south half of the park. Can’t let guests in if there’s cranes out. Just the top hat and stalls over Grande World Expo left to go.

Hoping to get up there for this in August. Have a flight booked from Dulles. Very excited to check out Canadas Wonderland especially with their weird Premier Rides magnum opus that’s oddly Virginia coaster themed opening. Was always watching the park “they just need a 4th big ride to make me pull the trigger.” Even better I don’t have to worry about potential shoulder dislocations or extended pain from Time Warp now!

Really interested to see what the park looks like this weekend. They have yet to complete the stall, the double inversion right next to it, and the top of the top hat. What are the pathways going to look like with ongoing construction?

Very good question, considering that 3/4 of the pathways needed to access Action Zone and Yukon Striker are blocked off. As it stands about half the park is inaccessible rn to guests. If the park were to open today the only way over would be though Planet Snoopy and Kidzville and past the waterpark. Alignment issues on the top hat are not helping.

They will probably be able to clear cranes and pieces out of Grande Worlde Expo and the WMG access path before the weekend. International Festival/Alpenfest however is almost certainly going to have to stay closed.

The park is frankly gearing up to be a possible shitshow this weekend, they are unusually late/far behind on everything from offseason projects to ride testing/training. CW has a nasty habit of doing arguably too much in the offseason and then procrastinating before trying to bumrush stuff in time for an opening weekend. Last year when the maintenance tunnel underneath the WMG access path was caved in and rebuilt, they paved it over maybe two days before guests were let in. If there's been any further delay the pooch would've been screwed.

I'm guessing that Wonder Mountain will be closed in its entirety, including Vortex. They'll work on getting the stall and double inversion done before tomorrow night so that the path to Flight Deck and the flats can open. The path underneath the drop can probably open because the pullout is complete, but I'm unsure on that. And Fly will be closed because of Alpenfest. So they'll be down four coasters, which is.... yikes.

Vortex has been running, I think they will have it open. Nothing has actually been installed overtop of the Grande World Expo path yet so if they wait until next week it’s not a huge deal. But yeah with Minebuster, Fly, and coaster #18 out of the picture and new hires on platform it will be mildly frustrating. Fingers crossed that Leviathan’s third train starts running before then.

There seems to be track and supports right over Vortex right now, it's just not complete. I think they'll wait to open it until it's done. Same with Wonder Mountain Guardian. The powered coaster should be okay though.

Fly, Vortex, and Thunder Run were open today for previews. WMG was testing but didn’t open.

AlpenFury is demented as fuck and radiates stupid across the entire park. This is pure alien for us.

The station is an absolute monster of a unit that boxes in the wild mouse next door and is stacking the maintenance area, platform, and op booth on three consecutive stories. Queue will be beneath it of course, the exit is two flights of stairs. Triangular roof trusses are ready to go in, canopy will cover the first turn into the launch. It’s far higher than the B&M platforms here, nearly eye level with Thunder Run.
