Nicole posted this on the Battle for Eire thread and in the press release, a new show will replace All For One for 2018. Apparently it's a laser and pyrotechnic show that will open on July 6th and not much else is known about it. Color me intrigued.

The only thing about this show that I'm disappointed with is that the park never released the soundtrack. That made me peeved. :irritated:
Here are two songs from All For One. The first one is an official track, the second is a recording that I have edited from multiple recordings. This show had one of my favorite soundtracks. I welcome comments and questions, just be aware that I do not have the full official soundtrack at this time. However, I do have audio recordings of the show that I might post after further editing if these are well received.

Gary Lensenmayer's score is truly one of the best elements of both versions of All For One and he did a good job with the 2017 version as well.
The show only had a 2 season run because of how expensive it was to run it each night. If you watch videos of the show, you can see where the money went and I really admired it that I hope that the new 2018 show Spark is at least fun and highly entertaining.
Plus, the improvements to the second season were not enough. Apparently, the show still received mixed reviews. While I liked the concept and several elements of the show, it tried to be something for everybody and ended up catering to nobody in particular.
This show explains why the park shouldn't combine two or more conflicting narratives, hoping to create a successful show. They do it all the time and it has never worked out for them.
Constant remakes of already expensive shows like All For One requires more money and makes their creative teams look incompetent. That's never a good thing, and that's why All For One needed to retire after such a short time.

Because of the (horribly mismanaged, poorly designed, and laughably executed) pyro effects, All for One was quite prone to, uh, technical difficulties. In its second year, the show's set caught fire a number of different times—often resulting in the theater being evacuated and the current showing being cancelled.
If you're curious about the extent of the ineptitude of the park's pyrotechnics team the last few years, the forest fire caused by the New Years Eve fireworks last year is my personal favorite (publically reported) incident. Link

Pishaw... No show is complete until something burns down!
Secrets of Castle O'Sullivan used to have technical issues that sometimes prevented the completion of the show. The difference between SOCO and AFO is that AFO was a much larger loss for the park, should the show have difficulties. Aside from production costs alone, Castle O'Sullivan seats only about 300 people. That kind of show has a much smaller impact than a theater of 5000 people (more than ten times that of COS) being told that a show is unable to continue. That's more people at Guest Relations and complaining to the internet about their inconvenience.
With that in mind, I can't imagine how AFO must have looked to park executives and corporate. I will probably miss the show like anything that I enjoyed, even in the slightest, but hopefully, Spark won't be such a financial risk for the park. Sure it can still have technical issues, but at least the amount of manual labor needed should be significantly less.
I think the end of this article from Theme Park University puts a good perspective on why shows like All For One are not a good return for the park right now. It's about Tampa, but the same rules likely apply here until SeaWorld is on more stable ground.

The floor fire effects in the 2017 version did look pretty cool despite causing the show to stop several times. That Beavis and Butthead clip though. ?
As for Spark... It's okay, worth seeing once in person for the lasers and pyro but that was it for me. All For One on the other hand got me to see it 3 times in 2016 and 6 times in 2017.

I loved All for One when I saw it. A great production. Audience was a little more than 3/4 full stadium, and really into it. I purposely sat at the highest row to see everything, and was pleasantly surprised. (This was either 2016 or 2017 I believe; over Labor Day weekend)
I think the 2017 version was a needed improvement from 2016, which I still really liked but was flawed in several places. I do miss the show, it was a really nice way to end the day and was far more memorable than Spark, that's for sure.
