Glad I got to catch the 10P.M. show on the 3rd, pre-fire. It was fantastic, loads better than last years. Hope they don't do away with the pyrotechnics and fireworks because of the fire, but if they have to because of safety reasons than that's totally understandable.

I don't think they will remove those great elements just because the stage got smokey. Chances are that they found out what went wrong and fixed it so the show can run without any more of these things happening.

Very true. Guess I will have to find out next viewing or if anyone reports back on here!

Saw the show this evening (7/10) and all of the effects and pyrotechnics were working as usual, despite the incident from the other day.

That's wonderful news, thank you Kyle for that report. :)

Saw the show recently, still as good if not better than the performance I saw on the 1st. Let's just say that the show has truly enchanted me the same way "The Enchanted Laboratory" and "Castle O'Sullivan" did for others; plus hearing people really liking the show after the performance always puts me in a happy mood. :D

Saw this year's All for One the other night, and I was enormously disappointed. This was my favorite show last year. I would have paid money to see it. The female antagonist was simply brilliant, with her dramatic, sinister persona. The plot was hard to follow, but I could have cared less. The action and fast pace kept me immersed. I walked out wanting to see the whole thing over again, like a book that makes you believe in its story.

The show I saw several days ago, I will avoid like London Rocks and Roll Out the Barrel. The story was easy to follow--too easy to follow. It was like children's television. It was too simple to hold my attention. The pyrotechnics seemed to be there just to add some interest to the dry production rather than to enhance an already polished storyline. The female lead trying to be a musketeer was not a believable plot. The fight scenes were not as well choreographed. My family and I agreed that overall, compared to last year, the show was dull. I most likely won't be going to see it again until the next season.

I'm disappointing reading this that I never had the chance to stay late last year.

I agree with your assessment though. The story is blah, the promise is too simple, the action is dull, and pyro is just used to held attention. Add on the night I want they went a little over the top with getting the crowd to hiss at the red guard to the point that half the lines were drowned out.

You just reminded me of another thing that bothered me this year. There was just too much talking before the show that was supposed to be fun/funny and simply was not. I don't remember the name of the grenade maker, but his character detracted from the seriousness of the adventure and reminded me that I was viewing a theme park production.

I'm glad someone else thinks the same way as I do as far as last year's show being better. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the show this year a lot, but last year's version I thought was much better overall. The character of Milady de Winter was a much more interesting antagonist than the one in the show this year. I also think it's too slow this season too. There's a lot of scenes where I'm tempted to just pull out my phone and browse reddit until it's over. Particularly, the bit where they're climbing up and down the side of the building facade on the left side of the stage (from the audience perspective) really bores me. I had no problem with the overcomplicated plot of last year's show because the action was enough to distract me and the oversimplicity of the plot this year bores me a bit. It's too predictable. Don't get me wrong, there are aspects of the show this year that I like better than last year's. For example, I like the extension of the stage that runs through the audience. That's cool. I also, like that the queen and king actually have lines in this year's show. The fireworks are much better this year. I have no problem with a strong female protagonist either. I think it's awesome, but it does feel a bit forced in some ways. I think if they can take the positives from last year's show and combine them with the positives from this year's show and combine them for next season, I think we'll have a definite winner.

That being said, I'll definitely keep seeing the show because I'm a sucker for a 30-minute show filled with choreographed fight scenes, no matter how cheesy. It's still one of my favorite shows in the park.

I have to respectfully disagree, the huge revisions that have occurred had turned a show I quite liked despite that I was watching bland cardboard cut-out characters going through the motions, into a show with nicely developed characters, better story, sets, special effects, costumes, and everything else that I absolutely ADORE. But as they say, to each their own. :)

So this was after the cannon blast? What caught fire, or is it possible that the flames just went out of control? Aside from the finale, this scene is probably most susceptible to having issues. The fires look cool, but probably cling to any small bit of debris, or anything that isn't in its proper place.

The show mechanics here are a lot like the show building in Escape From Pompeii. I wouldn't be surprised if some type of show control system can stop everything without human interference.

If it is the "cannon blast fires" that are causing the problems, then I'm sure they will solve this problem just like how the park handled the special effects problems that "Castle O'Sullivan" suffered from during it's first season.

I sure hope it's not the cannon itself. That thing is supposed to have very little, if any fallout. They have however roped off all wheelchair seating in the middle of the theater due to people (or fear of) being whipped. First it's dropping mannequins on people, now this.

The mannequin, by the way, was very cool if you weren't expecting it. A red guard just falls from the blue rafters in the middle of the theater. Brilliant! Now Rochefort simply says "Man down!" and a lighting cue occurs with no effect, resulting in deadly unwanted silence. Just change/remove that line!

Eh, I can live without the mannequin. It wasn't impressive to me anyway when I saw the show twice now, I am planning to see it again sometime this week.

Saw the show again last night. Captain Rochefort didn't say "man down" for the deleted mannequin so everything is consistent again (and the fire on stage worked). The crowd was really into it and I really appreciate how much the pre-show here is a big improvement over last year's pre-show.

Can't wait for BGW Family's review. :)
