Discussion Aging Attractions at Enchanted Parks Properties

I did this a while back for Six Flags America, California’s Great America, and Great Adventure (the latter solely because it’s one of the most volatile amusement parks in the country at the moment) and figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a look at the mean, median, and mode of the age of the attractions (as well as the newest of each type) at the properties purchased by Enchanted Parks.

Spoiler alert: They’re inheriting some likely soon to be shitshows.

La Ronde

You’re absolutely right, I just mentally lumped that in being that it was also sold. Updated overall numbers:

To be blunt, to me this data makes it clear that SFEC being able to offload these parks, even if for less than $400m combined, will be a VERY good decision for them in the long run, as these lineups continue to age, become more maintenance intensive, and rack up costs in upkeep or replacement. I really hope Enchanted Parks is prepared to take on the issues that are inevitably going to arise here, but I also wouldn’t entirely be surprised if one of these parks doesn’t make it in the long run.

Seeing Great Escape up there with the aging rides really gets me concerned. considering The Comet is like the oldest coaster here
