For me, I think a big thing that needs to be addressed long term for the park is the poor state of the mid-tier low-thrill rides. I'm thinking in particular about Skull Mountain and Dark Knight. While I have a soft spot for SM, it's a decent coaster with maybe the worst theming of any coaster I've been on. It's a theme they've done nothing with for years and have consistently floundered at trying to figure out what to do with. I still remember the terrible VR experiment, not to mention that even at it's recent "best" its basically one strobe light with random music playing. Either invest into better effects and story or bring something else in.

As for Dark Knight, it's always been good not great, and somewhat redundant with Batman right across from it. It still occasionally gets crowds, but not at all what a ride in that area could be. Combined with the absolute stinker that is Justice League these days (no 3D, no effects, broken animatronics) at some point it feels like the park has to cut its losses with that strip and redevelop the JL/DK patch of land.

Ironically, the footprint of Joker fits pretty much perfectly in that area, and would match the Metropolis theme, and work pretty great positioned directly across from Batman. Though realistically this will never happen and Joker is far more likely to get removed, if its gonna stay I wish it could be there.

Also: Something has to be done about the theaters. Even a decade ago they were a waste of land and an eyesore. Keep Showtime as an indoor space to use for events, or come up with some kind of show or something, but for the future of the park we can't keep having all this valuable land be wasted. The stunt theater hasn't had a permanent show in almost 20 years. They didn't even use it for fright fest last year. My preference would be a permanent show, but if that's not in the cards open the space up for another ride or themed DC area.

So, are we getting ArieForce One, or is it going to Kings Island?

I know I’ve shared the overlay of AF1 over the right stuff building and the Superman Tent, but I think there’s a few different spots it would fit on the parking lot side of the park.

If they’re trying to jumpstart Great Adventure, I do think this would be a great addition, even if they didn’t increase the capacity at all, and I don’t think it’s too derivative of El Toro/Jersey Devil.

As much as I don’t think it’s what the park truly needs right now and that I don’t think it’ll go there, I do agree. Great Adventure needs investment at a rate that probably isn’t feasible, and if this can be done IN ADDITION to a family woodie/Vekoma, I think that would be absolutely wonderful. That said, if it’s one or the other, send AFO somewhere else.

With AF1 you probably wouldn’t need to add another thrill coaster for the next decade and people would be satisfied. It’d also make everyone to truly forgive the chain for the Ka fiasco.

I noticed a Vekoma tilt was featured on the KI survey. If KI gets AF1, they better send that thing here instead.

I’m happy we are getting bak, it’ll be a great rollercoaster so don’t take what I’m about to say the wrong way but,

I’ve said time and time and time again

A coaster like big bear mountain. Werewolf gorge and even more so thrill glider has been a massive need for this park for years. It should’ve been a priority. Thrill glider is literally the perfect attraction that’s missing at this park to draw in more crowds. You can’t just have niche rides. They need to please the GP as well and thrill glider would’ve been a better addition then Bak.

Oh well

I just genuinely hope they are listening. This park needs a family thrill coaster with a great capacity

I agree with you, and would be saying exactly this if we weren’t in such an unusual situation of a relatively new coaster being up for grabs like this.

I’ve already accepted that it’s likely going to KI anyways, so that I’m not disappointed when it’s announced

Something like BBM/WG and/or a smaller wooden coaster should’ve been added years ago and should be what they do next assuming GAdv doesn’t land AF1

They need to add another flat ride or two to the boardwalk (including a drop tower) and then announce something like thrill glider. They need to ride the momentum. They cannot slow down.
The good thing is they don’t seem to want to slow down at all, just gotta see what they have in store. The drop tower probably comes in 2028 if I had to guess
