Would you be against EV charging being included in with the Preferred Parking? That way it isn't "free" to General Parking.
If it also was Preferred, of course there would be that cost, at least. Due to limited availability, some minimum, preference or handling fee would discourage just topping off. Then maybe extra over some unusual amount. But there are several scenarios. With level 2 or limited rate charging, the Hummer simply won't get a full charge. Or maybe people CAN'T leave their cars there all day, so preferential treatment (or penalties) is appropriate.

I don't see "free" being that huge an incentive except for those who want to game the system. For those who really need the charging, availability is more important [EDIT] than it being free [/EDIT]. They're not trying to attract people from the competition across the street, they want people that actually empty their batteries getting there.

Free, insane performance and giant EVs may be important to a transition, but are contrary to the long term solution.

I literally don't understand any of the argument(s?) you are trying to make here.

While that goes rather far, there was a big mistake in my most important sentence, see edit. I have been trying sometimes to pare down my posts to the more important points, that would have helped.

Have parked between 2 Teslas at BG. If even 10% of cars on a crowded day are electric, that's at least 1000. If it's free and easy they'll almost all want it. Meanwhile those who don't want to spend extra time getting home would gladly pay.
