I think what Dr. was referring to was, Imaginique had a different feel from a real Crique Du Soleil show because it wasn't as elaborate. And because it was more elaborate and better than a traditional theme park show yet not as elaborate as a real cirque show it made for an amazing feel.

I don't think he ever said it wasn't an imitation.

I saw the one in Downtown Disney. And I liked it a lot. But I thought the atmosphere of Imaginique, and how that functioned as a part of the whole park experience, was amazing.
