I hope Rebel Yell gets its paint job finished(assuming it won't be finished, from what has already been done this year). I'm thinking there's probably going to be a new coaster. Perhaps, the bringing back of an old flat?(there has been high demand for this all over the place) On-going renovations to Volcano, and hopefully, Candy Apple Grove, or Safari Village Asphalt replacement, preferably Candy Apple Grove.

That would be yet another fantastic off-season.

There's still a lot of coaster rumors floating around the web... so... take that as you will.

And we're not going to get anything relevant until either a source comes forward or permits are filed, which doesn't usually happen until the fall.

I liked the park much better in the 80's and 90's when it was all asphalt. It always smelled great in the hot summer sun.

I can't really tell if you're being sarcastic here or not...

Yes because I love walking on 125+ degree pathways, that just improves my day now doesn't it.

Reality is, asphalt is hard to maintain, a winter with a considerable amount of snow can really reek havoc. Not to mention asphalt brings down the infrastructure around it. The infrastructure in areas in Candy Apple Grove where the asphalt has been replaced look 5x better than the areas where there is asphalt. Asphalt may be nostalgic to you, which I'm fine with, but it is not as good looking as the pavers. Sorry.

I really hope that one day all the asphalt will be replaced. Truthfully, I want it out of Old Virginia too. Asphalt is ugly, when I'm in an amusement park I don't want to feel like I'm walking down a highway or road. I absolutely love the pavers they have been putting in lately, in-fact I would say that they look a heck of a lot better than BGW's aggregate. Once KD replaces all the asphalt I believe they will be a step above BGW, in terms of walkways.

Virginia summer heat + lots of asphalt + lots of people = Heat Misery.

Complete pavers all the way around would be awesome.

The one thing I like about asphault is that when it's hot enough I can save my natural gas bill by cooking my breakfast on the street. Other than that Asphault is cheap, tacky, and looks bloody awful at the end of the first year its paved. Pass a car over it and it just falls apart.

At 2:54 it literally sums up everything my dad tells me about the park. He told me he would always remember the time he got picked out of the audience and got to hold the hoop for the dolphin show. Can't do that anywhere today.:( I never got to experience it so I hope they could bring it back at some point.

Did you guys see the animal statues they placed in Safari Village? They look really nice and it helps the theme of the area. :D

I saw a lion and a giraffe last week but I'm like Nic, They could have been there for years and I not notice. I agree with them looking cool and adding depth to the area. There was no music in Safari Village last Saturday though. I did find that strange. No bongo drums or anything. I only spent 45 minutes in that area though.
