I really think BGW should look into getting a Vekoma family invert but a custom one. It would fill the gap of a 42 inch height requirement while still being thrilling. I just would want something longer than the Dragon Flier clone.

Counting Madrid, three of the rides added since 2015 will be coasters, with 2 non-coaster additions (unless they added something in 2016 I'm forgetting). Combine this with the removal of quite possibly their best non-coaster attraction. That's a net of a 3 coasters to 1 non coaster.

I think after Madrid, BGW needs to focus on filling in the gaps. Adding a solid ride here or there and focusing on the small stuff. Madrid will be able to drive attendance for a few years alone, that thing is a big deal.

I propose an overhaul on theming on rides that may need a touch-up here or there, and the addition of new rides with theming being an integral part of the design process. Coming up with a theme first, and finding a ride to fit their narrative, instead of vice versa.

For the most part recent market history seems to be telling a different story. Big ride additions haven't been driving attendance in established markets like they have in the past, and it can be seen most recently in Six Flags and Cedar Fair's recent annual reports. BGW is already a well established park and their attendance for the most part has been pretty stable even with the addition of InvadR and Tempesto. I don't expect Madrid to bring in a huge attendance push like Griffon did, even with a similar marketing campaign.

I think they have been focused on that. They built invadr to add a coaster that would be good for families and kids to have as their first ride and to finally give them the wooden coaster that people wanted. FF was brought in to add to their flat ride and give them a high thrill flat ride. They haven't added a high thrill coaster since Grffion in 2007.

I will say that Madridseems odd because it seems to be duplicating some elements of Verbolten and Tempesto. However I think that they also could use a new high thrill coaster. So from that viewpoint it makes sense to me.

With Reilly gone, it'll be interesting if SEAS continues the mandate of "one new attraction/show each year". I think, following Festa/Madrid, you'll see them take a breather and go the route @lce suggested in retooling the existing inventory for a season or two.

Taking that idea a step further, they should be looking at existing shops and eateries and revamping/retheming them. It just sends the wrong message to walk by places shuttered during a busy summer day.

Second, in regards to food, open up your culinary imagination and offer some new choices. Example- Hershey is offering an allergy free eatery this season. People love watching cooking shows, so why not even small "theatrical" venues? Even it's as mundane as watching them make cotton candy, it's theatre!

As far as the next major attraction it should be a dark ride in the Darkastle NewKastle. That's some awful expensive real estate to make into a two short season "special events center".

The mandate was one new attraction/show/event a year. So something like summer nights live or sesame Street kids weekends would qualify. Also something like a new restaurant would qualify. I also think that this was more something that was coming from the board than just from Reilly so I think that it will continue. Also the new CEO reiterated the commitment to it at the last earnings call.
I don't however think we will see a year like 2020 where there are 5 parks getting coasters.

Also BGW has. Had an allergy friendly program since I think 2011. Grogans used to be the designated allergy friendly restaurant but that changed when Marco Polo opened. Also all restaurant have special procedures in place to help someone with an allergy.

Edit: here is BGWs website about their allergy program. https://buschgardens.com/williamsburg/help/allergen-information/

I'd consider Verbolten high thrill as well - one of my biggest complaints about the ride.
I consider Verbolten a family thrill coaster. Perfect for kids who love Invadr but the idea of Griffon still terrified them

Verbolten is a step up in intensity from Nessie. The launches and forces take it over the top. (Nessie was yesterday's extreme, which by today's standards is "family thrill". Most "extreme" for their day coasters before 1990 that are not Beast or Magnum will fall into this category.)

@BGWnut I realize they have an allergy "program" as two family members go searching each time we go. My granddaughter needed a gluten free pizza at Festhaus. 20 minutes later we got it...and it wasn't that busy. Why make it difficult?

I have to disagree that a new restaurant qualifies as an "attraction". Not unless they reincarnated a Rain Forest Cafe style place. Lol

The gluten free pizza requires time to cook. They take a pizza and have to run it through the pizza ovens multiple times to cook it. If they could make it faster they would. But you can't always just have one sitting there. They won't be good quality. If you go to Marco Polo they have a nicer oven(it's a turbo oven> and can cook one in 3 minutes.

That's fair. I just think that Verbolten is a step under Alpen, Apollo and Griffon.

I think it's crazy to say Tempesto isn't high thrill. It might not be your thing, but many people (myself included) find it terrifying.
That's true and I actually really like Tempesto.

Bgw really should focus on flat rides after Madrid or further round out their lineup. low height restriction, but unique and high thrill flats would do a good job fleshing out the lineup and it also wouldn't be hard to theme some of them with an area.

A Star Flyer easily can pass anywhere in the park with a compact footprint, not to forget lower overall operating costs, better reliability, and a lower height restriction than a Mondial Windseeker.

An Air Race would also be a good fit in Germany to theme to the Luftwaffe of WW1. Though care might have to be taken in historic German symbols and imagery like avoiding the Iron Cross.

BGW is one of those parks that really doesnt have many standout flat rides, and the ones they do have are... well... uh... (looking at Mach Tower. Sweating.) Not of great quality. You could honestly throw a dart at a board blindfolded and find a good flat ride to add to BGW.

I could see BGW put in some more flats(hopefully). Especially something new that could blend into the hamlet and be themed very well> I would love to see this at BGW or some park in Florida, but they could easily theme this to one of the Hamlets. The ride is like this minus SUPERGIRL. I do believe this is the new style of the old Enterpise rides where you sat in a gondola. I love this to being flying around in the air in a inverted type seating.

Zamperla Endeavor. They're a modern take of the classic Enterprise, definitely one of those rides a lot of parks should be clamoring to get ASAP.

Another weird, but fun one, I'd like BGW to get would be an SBF Reverse Time

I definitely agree the park needs more flat rides. Adding a new-age enterprise makes the most sense considering none of the park's flats go upside down. But if we're talking coasters after Madrid, whatever it is I just hope it has a lift hill. I'm so tired of launch coasters at the park. There's nothing more pleasing to me than the sound of a chain lift. ?
