The first stop on a visit to Great Adventure when it opened in 1974 was the park's original front gate. The park entrance was at the foot of Dream Street where the Golden Kingdom and Frontier Adventures are now.
The entrance to the theme park, known originally as the Enchanted Forest had a colorful banner, and colorful tent like structures to welcome guests. As guests entered they could see all the down Dream Street to the Carousel, the Fountain, and the Giant Wheel all drawing theme into the Enchanted Forest where they would find an amazing world of spectacular, larger than life creations.
