Sesame Place Williamsburg

WCUSA is a very successful park in its own right. I’m not sure that converting it into a Sesame Place makes a ton of sense.

Regardless, just today Kevin Lembke talked about a Sesame expansion in the context of Forest of Fun and its proximity to the parking lot. He seemed to be referencing an old, internal concept, which is laid out in these two BGWFans articles:

Am I missing a reason as to why nobody seems to be talking about a potential conversion of WCUSA into Sesame Place park rather than building ground-up. They did it in San Diego to allow the park to go to year round ops, and this seems like it would make even more sense in Williamsburg. Just my two cents.

In San Diego they took a small struggling park that was well away from Sea World and on it's own and transformed it. WCUSA is considerably larger and produces really good financial results I don't see any way a conversion would make sense.

WCUSA is the second most visited seasonal water park in the country (right behind Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, TX). The only water parks that beat these two in annual attendance are the ones in Orlando that are open year round.

Was this the survey that was going to turn the France parking lot into a sesame park? Probably a good idea if it was funded with a properly sized parking garage encompassing Italy/Ireland with the capacity to also get rid of the across the street parking properties, if only to get rid of that logistical nightmare.
