What rides are in most danger of closing, and how soon do we think it may be? So far I've heard there is some rumblings of these:

BGW: Escape from Pompeii
SWO: Kraken
BGT: Kumba

I know it's all rumor and no dates, I'm just wondering what else could be included. And more importantly, how soon do we need to go ride these?

If BGW does get rid of escape from Pompeii I 100% believe they will keep the show building. It works as a haunted house space, and is probably the most picturesque spot during Christmas town.

Is there any evidence that either are getting to the end of their service life beyond either operations changes or the regrouting footers that sometimes happens?

I would think that Alpie and Montu could see sections of track replaced, but if it comes down to a full replacement they would be replaced by something entirely new, much like Verbolten replacing BBW. The cost of replacing piece for piece would never deliver the ROI of a brand new coaster. The two that have been replaced track for track were special cases— one contractually couldn’t change, the other has big restrictions and required the same height and layout to comply with regulations. These don’t have those requirements— think of something more like Alpen Fury replacing Alpengeist, and something like the Vekoma SFMM is getting to replace Montu. They cost less than B&M and are marketable as NEW rides instead of $20 million for the same ride we had for 30+ years.

I am aware of discussions that have happened internally re: Alpie's future and retracking is among the options on the table. This is likely due in part to the extreme difficulty/cost that would be involved with redeveloping the land Alpie currently occupies. Between the harsh terrain, difficulty of construction equipment access, basically the entire attraction being located within the Rhine basin's RPA, and all of the development that has occurred around Alpie since its original construction, any project here would be INCREDIBLY complex.

That being said, Alpie has a history of foundation issues which could doom any potential retracking plan. If the foundations can't be relied on for another 25+ years, retracking makes very little sense.

I would think if given the opportunity, replacing Alpengeist with a more generally popular coaster with their guests. Something like a wing, mid-size RMC, or spinning Mack would have broader appeal that just doesn't really exist with Alpengeist.
Alpie is the tallest full-circuit inverted coaster on earth, it has pretty strong appeal

I'm gonna say highly doubt for Kumba. It just got a massive refurb to reopen it.
