What is it with your ever-changing criteria to be able to not hate on VB?
Hey, it's a step up from my previous one-track mindset of wanting it destroyed. The roof not being replaced took the ride's theming condition from pitiful to pitiable.

Your suggestion would help make Verbolten's story more coherent.

"Money! I want the most of it!" <- What SEAS thought processes are.
Yeah, maybe I should have been more specific: SEAS thought processes when selecting new attractions.

Back on topic, seeing a possibility of a DarKastle replacement before Drachen Spire fills me with joy. I've been saying that BGW shouldn't have a third high-thrill addition in a row when their family lineup is relatively weak. Hopefully one of the off years will mean restoring the atmosphere.

I think the majority thought the same thing about the Wolf's departure. Busch Gardens does a fantastic job of immediately creating a nostalgia and a character that comes with a ride. Verbolten is very different than the Big Bad Wolf but it does a great job of embracing a unique character.

I think my problem stems from the fact that the building facade for DarKastle is going to remain, and that was unique to that specific dark ride. If the building is going to remain the same, I think the new ride should embrace the old nostalgia that came with the story of DarKastle.

Yeah but...........Verbolten replacing Wolf was all planned and started pre-seas. Gotta remember things are different at the top now.
We also have to remember that Verbolten in 2012 is different than Verbolten in 2021… That poor ride needs so much TLC… The bridge and the event building

If you told me the building of Darkastle is worth about 3.5 million I might believe you.
There is no way the actual build as a shell is worth anywhere where near that as it's basically just a warehouse with a fancy front. So the question is what else are they including to get to that 3.5 million tag. There are a lot of possibilities that don't include a full ride setup that could get them there. Especially if we are talking about internal foundation modifications to say mount something that isn't included in this price.

That "fancy front" is likely worth a TON of money for the record. Don't forget about all the internal theming that still exists too.

Bit confused there, didn't they strip out and remove all DK theming/props so it's literally just a warehouse in there now, not considering any HoS or NK items?

I meant in the queue, preshow, load, and unload. Just all those custom light fixtures alone are worth a small fortune I'm sure. Remember, DarKastle was built with BEC money. They legitimately spared no expense.

While I love you John Hamond reference above, when can we expect more info?!

The Project Penguin article is going to have a puzzle in it. If you all solve it, it reveals the biggest DarKastle replacement spoiler yet—so you all could, theoretically, know a lot more very soon after the Penguin article.

That said, a full DarKastle replacement article could still be a couple weeks away. I swear we're working as fast as we can—it will be worth it!

Project Penguin article has dropped, and y'all know what that means: more 2023 clues! Here's what I have so far (spoiler'd in case you want to look for yourself first):

I suspect some unscrambling is in play here...and perhaps also some decoding. A quick anagram solver pass didn't turn up anything meaningful.

Hmm, if we use "sled", we're left with t, b, c, g, z, s, and e.

If we replace the numbers with their corresponding letters, we get an additional a, b, c, d, and h, which isn't helping a ton, so I'm not sure about that one.
