Great to see this. I just hope they don't copy FunSpot and start clapping every time you wrap up a ride.
To be fair this was originally a prepandemic plan that got delayed. My understanding is it was they intended to start construction after the close of their 2020 Season and be ready to open it at the beginning of their 2021 season. Survey stakes and markers were visible around Thanksgiving 2019.

My main question- is that since they’re expanding this track- are they going to get new karts for it as well? They’ve started investing in go karts that have the park logo on them, first appearing on their figure 8 course. The current cars that are on this track are designed to look more like nascar cars. They also don’t have a super tight turn radius, which wouldn’t be good for that helix.

I would assume so. Why spend all the money building a new track, then use old, crappy go karts... oh wait, that would be the SEAS approach

There are JCC board hearing notices posted around Go Karts Plus right now I haven't dug into them but I would guess they are related to this.

Going to try to do some more digging when I get home but it appears to me that JCC has denied the new track plan. Here is what I have for those with a better understanding of this stuff then me.

From what I can tell, even though they own a singular property now, it was at one time two separate properties with different zoning designations. They had received variances, but one side of their property didn't get a permanent variance, which is what they're asking for now.

Interesting to note that officially it's Action Park of Virginia - wonder if they can get the NJ park's old Lola racers...

Much of the Pottery is officially vacant and available for lease my dream is that the new track opens possible expansion that way.
