I hope they tease a lot of lore stuff.

With such a (hopefully) highly-themed attraction, there should be a TON of stuff the park has to work with that hasn't already been solved. Teasing the existence of a coaster that everyone can see in-park and that has already been teased on construction walls for months is just such an odd choice.

Hopefully the next wave of marketing is a lot better.

I think it’s unfair to judge the marketing approach based on this one teaser. We have no idea if this teaser is all we’re going to get, or just the first wave. It could just be a cutesy way to acknowledge the construction project that everyone can see and kick off a more intricate marketing campaign.

Maybe it won’t. But maybe there’s (really) more coming, and the alternative to this grid of posts was just nothing related to the project at all before we get into the “real” campaign. But until we know, I think the criticism is unwarranted.

True. I set my expectations low so that I won’t be disappointed in anything they do. I just like to give them crap regardless 😂

What if this is actually the teaser for I-305's rebrand, and the wing announcement is on National Roller Coaster Day in August?

Good theory, but this is definitely for the launch coaster. They say it’s “launching” in 2025. I also believe that fact that the teaser campaign is called “Conquer the Skies” hints to a bird theme like we’ve been thinking.

Somewhat related, I wonder if we’ll get any news on 50th anniversary celebrations on the 31st, or if this will solely be for the ride. For those who remember back in 2017, the park announced WinterFest on the same day as Twisted Timbers, which was completely unexpected.

From Kings Dominions Website

“A powerful presence is quickly approaching to conquer the skies over Kings Dominion. Swift. Mighty. Fierce.

Before now, the Virginia skies were calm and peaceful. But that's about to change. When this winged legend launches out, you'll feel its presence soaring through the air.

Stay updated as the king of the skies descends upon Kings Dominion on July 31, 2024. Follow our website, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Sign up for our newsletter, too.

Brace yourself for the experience that’s to come.“

Seems like a pretty early announcement! I'm used to August as Christmas for thoosies (not that I'm complaining).
I thought, whatever was considered by Cedar Fair to be the lead new attraction for the following season, was given "Head of the Line" announcement privileges. The remaining parks would announce throughout August into September (attractions at least worthy for a special announcement).

Plus, I still think there is going to be a good deal of theming going into the ride area. I believe that is why the construction calendar for the ride is about 6 weeks ahead of most major attraction installations.
