Last Monday was a good time to go the last couple hours. Walked on Dominator for the first time this year about 5:30 -- back row, plenty of people waiting for the front and lame rows. My visit was mostly Carnivale-free. Walked through the stuff under the Eiffel and saw a couple floats, which was somewhat impressive. Only heard the parade music about 30 seconds which was of course still enough to stick in my head.

Even on Thursday I was really pleasantly surprised to see so many people buying food, engaging with performances, etc. People really do seem to like this event. It brings so much life to the park in the evening—I just wish it had a (much) longer season. 🙁

KD needs to do more events like this in general. They definitely draw larger crowds (often much larger) with them and I’d assume make more money from tickets and food sales.

I was a little surprised that CF/KD went ahead with the event this year given the difficulty of finding workers. The parade was scaled down some due to the number of workers needed to run it. Not the entertainers, just the safety folks and float drivers/guiders, etc.

The 1st year, 2019, there were 9 floats in the parade and the event ran 3 weeks. There were 5-6 floats this year, and a 2 week run. But, the park pulled it off and most folks seemed to enjoy the food, events and entertainment.

One downside is that I kinda like how the park can be dead on certain days and times - crowds mean I have to dodge people to get to the next ride where the queue is likely to be long where normally it's a walk-on or less than 10 minute wait.

Of course, that's me being selfish...

I visited Grand Carnivale a few weeks ago and had a blast despite the insane crowds. The park was absolutely slammed. Easily the busiest I've ever seen it.

For a mini food & wine event, the food was really good. I'm so happy to see KD and Cedar Fair in general trying to step up their food game. BGW better watch out.

My biggest issue is everything is concentrated around the Eiffel Tower so everyone crowds there. Combine that with how busy the park is and it becomes a massive cluster

You could tell the park was hurting on staffing since the lines moved extremely slow.

Ride lines were also slow. Just about everything had a full queue, but fortunately everything was fully staffed so I didn't see any closed up shops or attractions like BGW has been plagued with in the last couple months.

The parade was awesome. I saw about half of it because I was on a ride for about half. The floats were impressive for a regional park like KD.

For how busy I was, I wish the park extended it's hours. Even one hour makes a difference. It took about an hour to leave the parking lot

The park was great as always. Idk if I'll be making it back for Carnivale but I can't wait to return.
