Expansion has been possible behind Festa but that means removing stables where the horses and other animals really live.

That area needs to stay, the park really needs more animals.

Folks here may recall that when King's Dominion opened, it had a monorail or some sort of vehicle which tool visitors through an exhibit of African animals and that sort thing.

This attraction lasted about five minutes (sadly), once park management (presumably) realized that 95 out of 100 visitors come to amusement parks to ride thrill rides, 5 out of 100 come to see the shows, and none give a flip about zebras and elephants. More or less.

Being in the .00003 percentile which has no interest in thrill rides, I too would love to see more animals, and more/better/longer shows.

(And a cigar shop, book store, news stand, easy chairs, and shade trees.)

Thank you! My wife and I always thought we had done this at BG in the early 90's but then found out they never had such a thing. It must have been KD. ;)

The monorail at KD was called Lion Country Safari. The station was located around the area where The Crypt now sits. I wish they still had it!

After visiting both Florida Busch parks, I can say that both BGW and KD could definitely benefit from having more animal exhibits.

Unfortunately knowing CF and their nonexistent animal policy, I don't see the safari returning to KD, but if BGW decides to renovate Festa, animals should definitely be part of the experience. Both BGT and SWO have amazing exhibits and it would definitely make up for the lack of flats in Williamsburg.

If CF knows what its doing, they could easily turn KD into a two day park if they brought some animals and made a drive through safari like Great Adventure instead of adding robotic dinosaurs. Maybe they could bring KI's safari back in the process.

I think you're misinformed...

to be fair those robots are more like statues 95% of the time. I like that bgw has animals amd they take good care of them. They may not be exotics like what great adventure has for the safari but atleast there's something. now if only they allowed guests back in the grazing area :/
