Between 100; and 150 teens were involved in a large scale brawl on opening day! Yet ANOTHER case of unruly, UNSUPERVISED teens running amok. Hopefully they institute a policy similar to Carowinds, whereupon those under 18 MUST be accompanied by an Adult.
(I believe 1 adult can supervise up to 4 minors, per their policy) ** I believe Carowinds initially tried a “after 7 pm” addendum to this policy but quickly realized it would be a logistics nightmare to try and remove unsupervised teens. Better to prevent them from entering the park in the first place.

That policy as a joke. It’s just to give the appearance of safety.

Anyone can enter before 4 PM. Once these unsupervised people are in the park, they are going to be able to locate them and remove them. If it’s not an all day policy at the gate, then it’s not enforceable.

This chaperone policy is security theater. Didn't Valleyfair have an adults only night once that turned into a brawl? (Wait, Valleyfair's adults only night had booze, right?)

My point exactly. How do you track down the unsupervised juveniles after they enter the park???

I don't think it would hard to track them down at all. but actually ejecting all of them would probably not go well or quickly.

🤔So sorting through (?) maybe 25,000-30,000 visitors and finding the unsupervised, WOULDN’T be difficult?????? What; just stop every minor and have them prove they’re with a chaperone?😂 A logistics nightmare, not to mention the bad publicity from such a tactic, plus the added headache of possible lawsuits over harassment or perceived harassment, and it only takes one overzealous rent a cop to really escalate things.

Think of it like a secondary offence (not 100% the same though) - though enforcement may still occur, it's usually because the offender is committing a primary offence. Gives the park more power to remove/trespass guests as needed.

Granted, at that age I'd have been pissed to have to leave when all I want to do is ride rides...

I guess pretty much ALL CFair parks have instituted this chaperone policy. Kings Island, Knotts, Carowinds, Cal Great America, Cedar Point. (Haven’t seen anything on Valleyfair or Michigan’s Adventure yet🤷‍♂️)

Correction.... Cedar Point HASN’T installed a chaperone policy (at least not yet)
