If you didn't know, Will Koch, owner of Holiday World, died a few weeks ago. Though I have yet to go to Holiday World (though I should be later this year), I have always thought very highly of him and his park. He was known to ride rides with the guests, greet them at opening, and even play bass for the band that performs at Splashin' Safari.

Anyway, a tribute video was posted to the Holiday World blog which included a clip of him telling the interviewer which park he would of liked to own if he didn't own Holiday World. His answer: Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Here is a link to the post, and here is the video:

Aww, man, I'd love to go to Holiday World; love to ride Voyage! From descriptions of HW in posts on sites like TPI I can see some similarities in philosophy to BGW in the way HW has developed in the areas of rides, themeing, customer service, etc. esp. in recent years.

I met him a couple of times and always walked away thinking "What a great guy!"

Holiday World is the kind of place that, each time I've been, I come home halfway planning to move to that area so I can go there more frequently.
