A what if , had inbev never existed or never bought Anheuser-busch , and in turn never sold off there theme parks , what could the parks be currently, personality I think both kings mill resort and probably grants farm would eventually be place under the Busch entertainment umbrella, I still think Busch would still bought knots sock city from cedar fair .

Fun thought experiment. I'm sure they would be different. Way fewer drink options. Probably better operations.

One of the biggest problems with pre-Inbev AB was the lack of concern for profit. They didn't manage the parks to push profit, which we loved. But they also let their stock price remain stagnant, which is what eventually did them in. No matter what, I'll always miss the old days of a united Anheuser-Busch company.

The things I wish I could tell you….
Wasn't the promotional facility aspect the main business justification for the Busch Gardens parks because the family's original motivation was sharing the gardens aspect?

So maybe the balance sheets on a given park weren't great, AB itself did relatively well. One could argue the beer company is doing better under InBev though that gets far away from the parks.

Well feel free to one day. It'll be 20 years towards the end of the decade.

My wife works in the alcohol industry so that's why I can't fully share anything, but basically AB and now InBev is basically the bully of the industry and they do a lot of 'good' things to get people to look the other way.

That's hardly a revelation - while I'm sure your wife could give better detail than publicly known, it's pretty well known in the beer nerd community how shifty and shitty they are. But they have been the perennial million ton gorilla of the industry for quite some time.

I mean - I can't share everything she's told me. But some of it goes back to pre-InBev days. They don't just do shifty and shitty things, they've done things that are straight up illegal, but pay off the right people with the right fines and kickbacks.

Sorry to ninja edit your like @Jonesta6 - but like I said, to AB pre-InBev days, they were OK with the park losing money because yes the beer side made the money, but also good favor from well run parks went a long way to making people ignore the myriad of issues that popped up on the beer side.

For the topic, if AB never sold off the BG parks, then they would be still what people remember them as and likely better. It's not an uncommon tactic for companies to use. Like, remember VW's emissions scandal? Most people don't because they raced to the forefront of EV technology with their charging network, Audi's E-Tron line, the Porsche EV, and dropping the diesel line all together. In fact, if BGW and BGT never were sold, and InBev never bought AB, I bet both BG's would see an influx of development every time a negative story came out so when you google search "Busch" with something the parks likely come up over the beers. That's what happens right now when you search VW emissions. A bunch of EV things come up over the diesel emissions scandal.

Still kinda fits the theme in my head, but it would be interesting to know.

Of course, what impact would that have on this hypothetical scenario where AB InBev retained the parks?

For me, InBev's management is just another venture capital firm making the world worse as time goes on.

Had inbev never happened, would Busch try again with Dubai project with the 4 parks instead of restarting it with just SeaWorld

come to think of it, maybe its for the best that anheuser-Busch sold the parks, I mean, the parks would been boycotted to hell due to the whole kid rock bud light thing (similar to what happened with disney & Florida) if anheuser-Busch still owned the parks

edit: I got backlash over saying that, so I added additional wordings to it

ok, Im sorry over what I posted, so please mod, delete the comment I made
