So, no ride concept here but and idea for WDW's land use.
Now I will say that I know I have no idea of what the actual land in these areas are like of if it's even usable. But I'm going to toss this out there.
In the one thread I have mentioned that I think it's high time for WDW to have a 5th gate. Here's my plan for how to do that:
~ This park IMO should go in the more northern part of the property since the southern part already has 3/4 parks.
~ I would bulldoze the old Osprey Ridge golf course. Where the range is could become the grand entrance to the parking.
~ The remainder of the range becomes the land that the park goes on along with parking all the way up to the water of Bay Lake where the main center of the park revolves around this water front. This allows you to take advantage of the water way to connect the new park to MK, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian.
~ Early on that will be the only additional access, but longer term I would see a monorail addition or a second Skyliner line that connects to up there.
~ Now, I've played all the Disney golf courses and even though it hurts my heart to close one, I got an additional idea that could add to the golf but be more family friendly. There's land between the Wilderness Lodge, the old Airstrip, and Fort Wilderness campgrounds north of the canal.
My plan would be to take this land and make a family golf center. Make your own version of a Top Golf range, a "championship style" short course (all par 3's) that's 9 holes long, and a "family short course" (all par 3's) that can be played without using a wedge. Additionally put in a giant putting green with a putting course, and put in 2 additional putt putt courses.
This giant golf facility would be a great way to make golf more accessibility to the resort for families to give more to do on non-park days.
_________
Overall I think this pulls more action to the northern part of the property and balances some of that out. Then they have a whole new sandbox to play in with these concepts, a new gate to compete with Epic Universe. It allows them in their current parks to focus efforts to what needs to be updated vs replaced.
