RE: New Water Country U.S.A. Attraction in 2015?

Considering how little love WCusa has gotten since Blackstone bought them out I doubt it'll be anything to write home about both years. The park went to crap when they removed Atomic Breakers, only has gone downhill since.

Maybe this could be the start of the major expansion from the new master plan. I really, really wish they would retheme the park. I doubt that would ever happen until new management or ownership.

Back in the day they seemed to get a new attraction at least every other year. Then it started slowing down, now it's practically stopped.

RE: 2014 major attraction addition

Off Topic: DDave originally posted about the video so he deserves credit as well.

On Topic: A real flat ride at WCUSA would be a really interesting idea. I could see this helping them out a lot.

RE: Project 2014/2015

I think that is a BRILLIANT teaser for whatever may be coming to WCUSA. Can't wait to see it!!

RE: Project 2014

I figured out what it is. It took 30 minutes of staring at the video but, it was worth it. Mack built manta so, there might be building this. It looks like it goes up a lift hill forward then you stop. Then you you hear a "clink" and you go backwards. You plunge into a tunnel backwards. Then you do twist and pops of airtime. After that you go up a back spike and do everything forwards. Or it could be a launch. This is just an idea of what I think it could be

RE: Project 2014

Funnel, some sort of Proslide Bowl slide. Could either be a Tornado, Cannonbowl, Behemothbowl, or even a half pipe.

Much appriciated, but really I just happened to access it when it was uploaded accidentally and figured I'd finally make an account here to share the news if nobody has done so already.

I'm not sure how a "flat ride" would work in a water park. It's certainly possible, but I haven't heard about that being done anywhere before.

I don't see how that fits into "Only one in North America" claim they are making. Aren't there plenty of those around already?

I have to agree, but at the same time, we've seen park marketing departments all over the US make unfounded claims and stretch the truth with little tiny details that make it, "The only one in North America."

We'll have to wait and see what they have up their sleeve. Unlike James City County, York County will seal a "public record" at the request of the applicant. My attempts to get any kind of site plans or even the most basic permit application have been tabled by the park and county.

RE: Project 2014

All it takes is a different color or water spray direction to make it "the only one."

Great Adventure still bills Superman as the only Flying coaster in the northeast even though there are 2 Zamperla Volares only 2 hours away (Soarin' Eagle @ Scream Zone and Volare @ Rye), but since the Volare isn't called a "Flying Coaster" Superman can still be billed as "The Only Flying Coaster in the Northeast!"

Don't even get me started on what Merlin does when they advertise.

RE: Project 2014

Looks like raft is lifted up somehow. Then drop like a coaster into tornado type tube which would end up in water.

RE: Project 2014

When do we think construction will start for this? I know they don't have to rush too much, because WCUSA doesn't open until may, and they may very well likely not open it until June. Has anyone seen the beginnings of construction?

And I think someone should make a map of the possible areas this "thing" could be built.

Could this be some type of water coaster?

To be perfectly honest, it is nice to see WCUSA get a new ride and something much more exciting and definitely more anchoring than just your typical off the bat slide.

You cannot see much. The best signs would probably be visible from Jcpenney parking lot. I'll keep an eye on it. It's location will be very interesting. If this is indeed the first part if the new expansion plans i would hope and expect it to be an impressive ride to draw guests to a new area.

RE: Project 2014

I'm hoping for a ProSlide Hydromagnetic Tornado. No reason other than that I want one! It does fit the video, though. Funnel at the end, and the only one in North America. The only one I know of is in Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi.
