This poll will determine whether the entire community will be moving to the label user ranks (as seen for me and the mods), stars (as seen for all other members) or changing label colors as the number of posts increases.

Feel free to express your opinion.

Voting ends on Friday (the 17th).

Is there anyway that ten stars can transfer to a bronze medal. Ten more then change to silver and so on

Right now there are ten rankings in terms of how many stars are given for members. Different color labels is definitely possible.

I personally like the stars but I see how the labels can be useful for mods and admins so they can actually create their own titles instead of just using them for "Moderator" or "Administrator".

Ok, we heard you all loud and clear. You like your stars. I racked my brain trying to think of a way to display both position and post count. Here's what I came up with:

Position:
Banned: Red "X"
Member: Silhouette
Moderator: Shield
Administrator: Important looking person

Post Count:
1-50: New
50-250: Rosette
250-500: Bronze Medal w/ Green Ribbon
500-750: Silver Medal w/ Blue Ribbon
750-1000: Gold Medal w/ Red Ribbon
1000-1250: Bronze Star w/ Green Ribbon
1250-1500: Silver Star w/ Blue Ribbon
1500+: Gold Star w/ Red Ribbon

Example:
The one I've posted below for example would be mine. I'm a mod (hence the shield and the orange background) with more than 1,500 posts (hence the gold star with the red ribbon).

Just so you know, the picture above isn't final. I still have a little work to do- particularly on the text.

What do you'll think? I particularly need opinions on the two lists. Are the ribbon colors in the right order? Is the post count chart a little too extreme? Get all of your thoughts out- It's a lot easier to change stuff now than it will be later.

Here's one with the updated text and gloss. This one would be for a user who has donated and has between 250 and 500 posts.

I hope to have the .psd finished sometime tonight. After the .psd is made, it's just a matter of saving each configuration as a .png and sending them to Chris.

Thoughts?

I don't get the "Donor" thing either...

UPDATE: Wait! I think I get this now, this is for people who have donated money to the website.

I didn't know BGWFans took donations.

ArrowWolf is correct.

We don't take donations at the moment, but that may change soon. Apparently there have been some problems with the ad network that Chris has been using on the site. Remember: Hosing isn't free. The larger the site gets, the more it costs to keep it up and running.

Bandwith what?

I am happy about the mod color change. Glad it doesn't remind me of my "donor" color on another site haha.

Just so everyone knows, they're done. Chris just needs to create the new user groups and upload 'em.
