With the impending demolition of the Twister, here's a look back at the ride.

The Twister was added to Great Adventure in 1999 as part of the "War on Lines" that saw the addition of 25+ new rides in a single season. The Huss Top Spin was one of many purchased by Six Flags (under Premier ownership), and was the last one remaining in the chain.

The 2024 season was the final year for it, and demolition permits were filed for it's removal November 12, 2024.

So bizarre that every ride in this photo will be completely gone soon. Twister was one of my favorite flat rides at any park, shame to see it go.

Think there is only one top spin left in the US and its the smaller version?? Is it hard to resell the ride or something?

Apparently they were high maintenance— seems like they burned out motors all the time

The Crypt was just as much of a pain in the ass. One thing we were told to keep an eye out for was the arms trying to go in opposite directions, because it had happened before.

Oh yes the sounds of horror, very familiar with that.

Other classics were:

- The unverifying but not faulting seat
- The "NO" incident of Jan 1st, 2016.

Per Coliwood Studios’ most recent video (12/26), Twister has been removed with just the station remaining. Looks like they are moving fast on all the demolition so that they will be in a prime position to start construction of the new project as early as possible. They definitely don’t want to have a delayed roller coaster opening again and this project seems to be on a much bigger scale than Flash.
