For the first time in 13 years, the stage of the Royal Palace Theatre will once again glisten with the return of a full-scale ice show. ‘Twas That Night™, an all-new ice show, reimagines the magic of Christmas Eve and the classic poem A Visit From St. Nicholas. World-champion figure skater Elvis Stojko brings this beloved Christmas story to life, on ice. Combining the grace of professional figure skating with cherished Christmas music, original holiday songs and magnificent visuals, ‘Twas That Night wishes a happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night at Busch Gardens® Christmas Town™.

This is going to take a lot of work. The size of that star now is nowhere near the size it needs to be for a show like that.

According to Wikipedia...
"He is a three-time World champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, and seven-time Canadian champion"

That's not enough for a seasonal ice show in a regional theme park?

I think he meant "Stage", not "Star".

The RPT stage is actually just about the same size, if not bigger than most theme park ice show stages. I believe work on it had already commenced when I looked over at it from the train this weekend also.

Ah... well that makes sense. lol, sorry.

All of the Zoo cuts, while Entertainment created new shows and expanded Porno Nights just this year.

That isn't really fair.

Just because Entertainment added a single new show (not to mention removing two shows) does not mean another department is being sacrificed in its wake. In fact, Entertainment is down a show from last year, meaning it too has experienced budget cuts.

Also, despite the event's duration technically being longer, Star Spangled Nights also appears to have been cut down budget-wise as well. Fireworks only go off on weekends now, which means the bulk of the event's spending is actually reduced. Sure the decorations are up longer, but it doesn't cost any extra money to keep up decorations for a longer period of time.

I don't believe there is as much of a battle between departments occurring as some seem to imply.

cutting one show and removing most of the animals are not the same.  Removing most of the animals cuts a department to the bone.  Removing one show means very little.

You say they only made one new show.  I beg to differ, they also re-built London Rocks.

The cost of this ice skating bonanza is going to be exceptionally high.  Maintaining ice is not a cheap proposition.  I have serious doubts that it will actually draw in any more people that were not already there.  I have trouble finding a scenario that this little endeavor would EVERY build revenue.

The ghost of Scott lingers.

A train derails, possibly due to a lack of preventative track maintenance and Ent keeps spending.
Yes this park has its priorities in line.

Again, with the diminishing of certain aspects of Entertainment this year, I don't think the park is sacrificing other departments to enhance Entertainment.

Heck, with an expanded Food & Wine Festival, improved landscaping, and the addition of a new coaster, the same argument could be made that Zoo is being "sacrificed" for Culinary, Landscaping, and Construction & Maintenance, respectively.
