Transportation to Six Flags America

So I'm supposed to be visiting the park for the first time on Aug 16th when I'll be in the DC area and right now I'm looking to take the metro to Downtown Largo, MD and from there taking an Uber to the park. I've never taken an Uber before to an amuement park so I'm not really sure the logistics of that. Would the driver be able to drop me off past the gates without paying for parking / showing a ticket? And if not, is there pedestrian access to the park in case I have to be dropped off outside the park gates?

They do have a designated lot area where drivers (Ubers, Lyfts, parents, etc) can drop parkgoers off without having to pay a parking fee. You can also get picked up from that same spot at the end of the day. I'm not familiar with SFA's particular setup, but these areas tend to be fairly close to the gates at most parks.
